EVENT: BLANKET FIC
Who: All the lovely Heroes!
When: Day 44, morning
Where: Around the train
[ It may have been only a few days, but did that heatwave feel like it lasted forever to anyone else? No? Either way, it's gone now. Bringing with it a blessed coolness. Actually wait, it's cold-- too cold! Worse yet, not even going into the train seems to really help. Fortunately, someone seems to have been kind enough to leave some nice, fuzzy blankets lying around. Too bad it doesn't seem to help much unless you share them with someone...
Either way, you're in luck because you've got some new teammates on the train! The notification appears cheerfully on everyone's Chains:
Enjoy the cold...? ]
[[ NOTES: You're welcome to make team posts if you like, or intro directly into this mingle if you haven't already. Until next month's placements, the cold snap will persist-- along with the lovely blankets lying around. Enjoy! ]]

[ there's so many smells out here ]
[ there's so much ]
[ it might take them a while (or, more than a while) to get there, because she quickly gets busy scampering around all over to Explore and Investigate ]
no subject
[And point and explain things. More words to use.]
no subject
[ Well. She's not sorry, she's kinda having the time of her life here. ]
no subject
[Is this hungry exploring or animal sees food and must eat it exploring?]
no subject
[ Pulls open the oven with her front paws and sticks her head in — ]
no subject
[Gonna pick her up and away from the oven.]
Lots of appliances in here that can turn or cut if you're not careful.
no subject
[ She's large enough that picking her up is generally Awkward, and that's even before she yips and flaps her big ol' wings in surprise, probably smacking him a bit in the process ]
[ or a lot ]
[ Twists and leaps out of his arms! ]
Rude! Rude!
no subject
Better rude then encouraging putting your head in ovens. That cooks food.
no subject
Ruuuude.
[ Let a girl sniff around, damnit ]
[ But! Fine! Turns tail and snoofs her way back out into the lounge, lead the way, human. ]
no subject
[Sighs, but will lead the way to the library again.]
no subject
[ Now excuse her while she sniffs in here from top to bottom, too. ]

[ Gently paws out the most colourful books she can find, she's Helping. ]
no subject
....can you actually read or just going by looks?
no subject
Pretty colours.

So, I'm going to list genres. Are you familiar with genres as a concept?
no subject
[ Nods!! ]
no subject
Okay. I'm going to list genres. Nod your head at what ones you'd like to hear stories for.
Action and adventure. Crime. Drama. Fairy tale. Fantasy. Horror. Mystery. Coming of age. Historical fiction. Romance. Science fiction. Thriller. Suspense. Satire.
no subject
[ And ... nods at all of them. All the genres! ]
no subject
[Considering a few moments.]
We'll do mystery. A little more grounded when it comes to vocabulary. [Instead of made up words in some of those.] How's that sound?
no subject
[ Trots off towards the reading area, nudging out one chair for him while she just, straight up climbs onto the table to loaf there. ]
no subject
[We'll do Agatha Christie to not be totally obvious.]
[And then he'll come sit down at the seat and he'll begin reading to her. Making sure to not rush, and adding some entertainment value by doing voices for the characters.]
no subject
[ She listens avidly — and reactively, making faces and little vocalisations as the stories progress. Her ears twitch and perk, her tail wiggles and wags and even lashes sometimes. And all the while, she watches him closely, seeing how he forms the words. ]
no subject
[And serious voices and very funny voices because that's what you gotta do with archetypes sometimes.]
[And according to an audio book, Murder on the Orient Express can be read aloud in under three hours, so we'll say that.]
[Closing the book and putting it down.] That help?
no subject
[ she sure sounds more confident, the words coming much more easily. ]
