EVENT: BLANKET FIC
Who: All the lovely Heroes!
When: Day 44, morning
Where: Around the train
[ It may have been only a few days, but did that heatwave feel like it lasted forever to anyone else? No? Either way, it's gone now. Bringing with it a blessed coolness. Actually wait, it's cold-- too cold! Worse yet, not even going into the train seems to really help. Fortunately, someone seems to have been kind enough to leave some nice, fuzzy blankets lying around. Too bad it doesn't seem to help much unless you share them with someone...
Either way, you're in luck because you've got some new teammates on the train! The notification appears cheerfully on everyone's Chains:
Enjoy the cold...? ]
[[ NOTES: You're welcome to make team posts if you like, or intro directly into this mingle if you haven't already. Until next month's placements, the cold snap will persist-- along with the lovely blankets lying around. Enjoy! ]]

[ Trots off towards the reading area, nudging out one chair for him while she just, straight up climbs onto the table to loaf there. ]
no subject
[We'll do Agatha Christie to not be totally obvious.]
[And then he'll come sit down at the seat and he'll begin reading to her. Making sure to not rush, and adding some entertainment value by doing voices for the characters.]
no subject
[ She listens avidly — and reactively, making faces and little vocalisations as the stories progress. Her ears twitch and perk, her tail wiggles and wags and even lashes sometimes. And all the while, she watches him closely, seeing how he forms the words. ]
no subject
[And serious voices and very funny voices because that's what you gotta do with archetypes sometimes.]
[And according to an audio book, Murder on the Orient Express can be read aloud in under three hours, so we'll say that.]
[Closing the book and putting it down.] That help?
no subject
[ she sure sounds more confident, the words coming much more easily. ]

[ Rolls onto her back, wings flopping out all over the table, with her paws curled up by her chest and her head tilted so she can keep watching him. ]
no subject
[Mother hen gonna mother hen.]
[Moves the books a little more out of the way her sprawling out and will begin reading. Complete with voices and all that.]
no subject
[ ... and sometimes she exactly mimics his voices just for kicks, hope that's not disconcerting at all! ]
no subject
[And that is Very Disconcerting and he pauses the first time it happens because WHY, but....new teammate. Whose a dragon. And maybe young? WHO KNOWS, weird dragon thing.]
[So he keeps reading anyway.]
no subject
[ claps her front paws together when he's finished. which, speaking of her paws, she has cute as heck pink toe beans as well. ]
no subject
[Definitely noting cuteness, but also not gonna just pet someone without permission or adequate familiarity to get away with it. That's a creepy rude.]
[He's rude, not creepy rude.]
We can read more later. [Setting the book down.] Right now we should cover basics. What do you remeber before that room you woke up in?
no subject
Nothing. No memories. [ Shrugs with her wings. Her tail sways slowly, feathers rustling as they drag over the floor. ] S'pose I'll have to find them somewhere.
no subject
When I got here, I didn't remember anything either. But we can get them back. [Standing up andgesturing her to follow.] I'm guessing you didn't use your Chain at all? [Pulls his out in example.]
no subject
[ Now that she's talking more, it's easier to notice that she's got a (northern) British accent. ]
Too busy to play with it.
no subject
[....just gonna put in that order now, actually, for when they get back to Clover later. For now, lounge car.]
no subject
Bag? Saddlebag? [ How do dragons carry bags!! ] Team name? We're a team? A team on a train?
no subject
Correct. We're on a team, Clover. We're teammates. There's six teams on the train. Ginger, Jasmine, Licorice, Thyme, and Senna. They all have colors. We're pink. [Getting a drink of water because he read for like five hours.]
no subject
[ because ]
[ if he is ]
[ jumps up onto the counter once he's done to drink right from the tap, nevermind that she could've reached from the floor - ]
no subject
....was jumping up necessary?
no subject
[ Rumbles a laugh, even as she practically contorts her head around to get at the stream of water ]
no subject
no subject
[ It's fine!! ]
[ Turns the faucet off once she's done, shaking her head to get water off. ]
no subject
[Then gonna down the rest of this glass cause things to do, but need the hydration.]
no subject
No. No, no. Your heart will get stronger.
[ Through exposure, you know. ]
