EVENT: BLANKET FIC

[ It may have been only a few days, but did that heatwave feel like it lasted forever to anyone else? No? Either way, it's gone now. Bringing with it a blessed coolness. Actually wait, it's cold-- too cold! Worse yet, not even going into the train seems to really help. Fortunately, someone seems to have been kind enough to leave some nice, fuzzy blankets lying around. Too bad it doesn't seem to help much unless you share them with someone...

Either way, you're in luck because you've got some new teammates on the train! The notification appears cheerfully on everyone's Chains:

A. Senna

[ There is a young woman with long black hair wearing the Senna pajamas and boots, acting for all the world as though it's a proper outfit on its own. If you haven't seen her before, it's because she's only just showed up. Rather than reacting in any severe way, however, she seems instead intent on exploring the living room area. ]

...It's not bad.

[ That's all she has to say about that. ]

B. Out and About

[ After she's taken a bit of time to get used to her new digs, Rin can be seen walking around in the same outfit as above. Isn't she affected by the cold? Well yes, judging by the slight shiver you might see from her, but she otherwise doesn't seem to care. She's making her way through each of the train's cars, determined to explore on her own. Or so it seems-- she just brushed right past you, deftly avoiding so much as touching you even as she breezes on by. ]

[Sunset actually is wearing more clothes now. Because it's COLD and that's why you WEAR clothes, when coats and manes aren't enough. She's still unsure on the shoes, she's thinking about those, but at least wearing socks.]

[And coming down in a daze, her hair a mess, and not looking at all ready to face the day. She hasn't even noticed the newbie yet as she heads to the kitchen.]

[ That is why you wear clothes! Unless you're so dedicated to your aesthetic that you eschew common sense and reason, which Rin is more than happy to. She glances up at Sunset-- the hair doesn't phase her-- strange and seemingly unnatural hair runs in certain members of the family, even if she happened to luck out in that department. The amber yellow skin, however, is slightly more unusual.

She isn't going to comment on it, however, not without reason. She does glance up warily when she sees her there. ]

[Humans and clothes are Weird.]

[She's looking through the cabinets, trying to find something she can eat. Don't know that, don't know that, don't know-oh, that's oats ready for oatmeal? That works. Pulling that and the milk out.]

[She looks over at the voice. At least she doesn't freak out, she assumes people should be around.]

Hi. Which one are you?

[Super polite.]

[ "Which one are you?" An interesting way to put it. ]

...My name is Isuzu.

[ "Rin" is a very personal nickname, one she's loathe to give out easily. ]

Who are you?

I'm Solar Flare. Woke up the other day.

I'm gonna make oatmeal.

...I'm not hungry.

[ It's a lie, but Rin has. Issues. One of which includes not eating in front of people. ]

You "woke up the other day"...? Does that mean no one's been here very long?

[ok so, the clothes she found in her room?? not at all conducive to being warm. so she's walking out the door shivering, holding the long jacket around her for dear life, looking a little bit lost as she looks around.]

[oh shit, blankets! snatching one of those right up, thank you very much.

...except it's doing utterly nothing, and she's still shivering uselessly. :'(]

C. (any)

[gods above it's so fucking cold, but she's still gonna go poke around outside a bit — once she gets some warmer clothes, maybe she'll venture further.]

Kay. [Okay, so, some parts oats, this part milk....]

....yes? Wait, you don't know?

Did you just wake up?

[ She nods slightly, her arms crossed over her chest. ]

About five minutes ago.

[daydreamshimmer]

Oh.

[Pause.]

One minute.

[Turning to the sink and turning on the water and going to splash a bunch of it on her face, slapping her cheeks.] Okay. [Grabbing a towel to dry her face.] I'm awake now.

[Turning to Isuzu.] You still have your memories or no?

[juuuust wandering back into jasmine, bundled up in a blanket, yawning DEEPLY.

[ She raises an eyebrow. ]

Not having them was a possibility?

[ She'd glanced through her Chain enough to get the vaguest idea of what was going on but she'd missed that detail. Apparently. ]

Yeah.

Yeah, it is. It's a great time.

[ Rin lets out an inelegant snort at that. ]

I'm sure.

[ It's a pretty horrifying thought, honestly. ]

[it doesn't even occur to her that she might look weird, so she's just staring back for a moment before slowly lifting a hand in a wave.]

Yeah. I hate it.

Penric remembers and I think Desdemona does too. Don't know about anyone else on the team. [She....she isn't sure who all IS on the team other than Naeva, she only came last night to sleep in a bed.] But they've lost skills, so watch that.

Lost... skills, was it?

[ She's not even sure what she'd lose. There's no way the curse would count, she's sure of it. ]

...I'll keep an eye out for that.

[he's met an au ra before! but. sid was a guy, so. there's some adjusting to be done in the brain here.

lifts his hand in a wave too! smiling after a moment.]

[fair tbh, going from nearly 7 feet of au ra boy to around 5 feet of au ra girl is a trip

now that he's smiling, she's offering a smile too, shoulders relaxing a little.]

Good morning. I don't suppose you could offer a little more context to the whole situation, could you?

Yeah. I don't know what that all entails, but other than general culture things, I can remember information for magic spells and like. Stuff I can operate even though I don't necessarily thing of those items as 'common.'

[She's gonna make this oatmeal.]

Did you look on stuff on the phone? Or 'chain' as this place likes to disturbingly call it.

[ Holy shit, a new person. He's going to just stare at her, a little incredulous. He's made himself into a blanket burrito in the meantime, trying to avoid the cold ]
