Who: All the lovely Heroes!

[ It may have been only a few days, but did that heatwave feel like it lasted forever to anyone else? No? Either way, it's gone now. Bringing with it a blessed coolness. Actually wait, it's cold-- too cold! Worse yet, not even going into the train seems to really help. Fortunately, someone seems to have been kind enough to leave some nice, fuzzy blankets lying around. Too bad it doesn't seem to help much unless you share them with someone...

Either way, you're in luck because you've got some new teammates on the train! The notification appears cheerfully on everyone's Chains:

[ That is why you wear clothes! Unless you're so dedicated to your aesthetic that you eschew common sense and reason, which Rin is more than happy to. She glances up at Sunset-- the hair doesn't phase her-- strange and seemingly unnatural hair runs in certain members of the family, even if she happened to luck out in that department. The amber yellow skin, however, is slightly more unusual.

She isn't going to comment on it, however, not without reason. She does glance up warily when she sees her there. ]

[Humans and clothes are Weird.]

[She's looking through the cabinets, trying to find something she can eat. Don't know that, don't know that, don't know-oh, that's oats ready for oatmeal? That works. Pulling that and the milk out.]

[She looks over at the voice. At least she doesn't freak out, she assumes people should be around.]

Hi. Which one are you?

[Super polite.]

[ "Which one are you?" An interesting way to put it. ]

...My name is Isuzu.

[ "Rin" is a very personal nickname, one she's loathe to give out easily. ]

Who are you?

I'm Solar Flare. Woke up the other day.

I'm gonna make oatmeal.

Try anyway. Want any?

...I'm not hungry.

[ It's a lie, but Rin has. Issues. One of which includes not eating in front of people. ]

You "woke up the other day"...? Does that mean no one's been here very long?

Kay. [Okay, so, some parts oats, this part milk....]

....yes? Wait, you don't know?

Did you just wake up?

[ She nods slightly, her arms crossed over her chest. ]

About five minutes ago.

Oh.

[Pause.]

One minute.

[Turning to the sink and turning on the water and going to splash a bunch of it on her face, slapping her cheeks.] Okay. [Grabbing a towel to dry her face.] I'm awake now.

[Turning to Isuzu.] You still have your memories or no?

[ She raises an eyebrow. ]

Not having them was a possibility?

[ She'd glanced through her Chain enough to get the vaguest idea of what was going on but she'd missed that detail. Apparently. ]

Yeah.

Yeah, it is. It's a great time.

[ Rin lets out an inelegant snort at that. ]

I'm sure.

[ It's a pretty horrifying thought, honestly. ]

Yeah. I hate it.

Penric remembers and I think Desdemona does too. Don't know about anyone else on the team. [She....she isn't sure who all IS on the team other than Naeva, she only came last night to sleep in a bed.] But they've lost skills, so watch that.

Lost... skills, was it?

[ She's not even sure what she'd lose. There's no way the curse would count, she's sure of it. ]

...I'll keep an eye out for that.

Yeah. I don't know what that all entails, but other than general culture things, I can remember information for magic spells and like. Stuff I can operate even though I don't necessarily thing of those items as 'common.'

[She's gonna make this oatmeal.]

Did you look on stuff on the phone? Or 'chain' as this place likes to disturbingly call it.

Why do they call it that? But yes, that's the first thing I did.

[ It gave her enough information that she wasn't nearly as startled as she might have otherwise been, at least. ]

Either someone is not subtle at villainy or is completely divorced from reality to think 'chain' is going to sound like a good thing. [She has Opinions and very little trust.]

Then first thing might be do you have questions and we can go from there.

[ Rin finds her attitude entirely relatable, tbqh. ]

...Mostly, I'm not sure how much to believe in the first place.

Personally, neither do I. One on hand, they say this place works on the power of bonds and, fair enough, magic from bonds and harmony is extremely powerful stuff.

On the other hand, the thing they quantify as bonds is more like ice breakers and doesn't really do much to guarantee bonding is happening and yet they're still supposedly generating power.

So I'm in the camp there is definitely some misinformation going on here.

[ Rin lets out an inelegant snort. ]

That would hardly be a surprise.

[ She crosses her arms over her chest, scowling. ]

...Bonds are powerful, but they're not always a force of good. Especially when they're forced on you.

Forced upon you?

Forced.

[ She doesn't really clarify, but there's a certain stubborn set to her jaw as she spits the word out. ]

[She silent for several long moments and she's just.]

[How is one really forced to bond?]

[Bonds aren't near as easy as some people like to think they are. Maybe. Or maybe they're deluded.]

[Ugh.]

Well. Anyway, those ice breakers are still the way to 'earn sparks' AKA money and get back whatever you lost.

So there's still some sort of economy in place.

Yep.

And the multidimensional thing is real. So that's definitely a thing to contend with, whatever the powers that be are actually planning.

It's... definitely hard to swallow.

[ But she wonders if--

Her gaze flickers to the side for a moment as she considers something, then looks back at Solar Flare. ]

I suppose I'll just have to work it out as things happen.
