Event: 8PM-10PM PST Run
Who: unfortunate souls
When: out of time, slotted in with the event but put out of time so people can die/come back easy
Where: places
[ The ground rumbles and shakes - and then opens up. The earth swallows you whole, leaving you in front of . . . blobs . . . Oh they're a little cute, aren't they?

Re: PLAYER ACTION
Could you not? At this point you're just trying way too hard—
[ sparking a little, erratically. sure would be nice if she remembered how to do that on purpose! but it'll have to do as a deterrent while she edges back toward everyone else, to hell with that obvious divide and conquer strategy ]
MONSTER REACTION
Magic explodes the blobs, separates them down to little bits of gunk all around the tunnel's floors. Timur's and Akira's magics seem to hold them down for just a moment, before - ]
MONSTER ACTION
Hlasoh will find her blob clinging on, particularly to her eyes; she doesn't see darkness, though. No.
She can see the past - the time that she had murdered her friends. It comes as a brief flash, and then - she can see the rest of the people in the tunnels, all dead. Blobs gone, but everyone's somehow dead anyway. How . . . ? It seems like it's her usual method of murder, right. . . ?
The blob covers her ears, and she can hear it: whispers, chatters. Of course you would, of course you would murder everyone. It was just a matter of time - you enjoy this sort of thing, don't you?
Kaikoblob gives a grin as she points up, in a singsong voice.
"Red paper or blue paper?" ]
PLAYER ACTION
Re: PLAYER ACTION
[the dragon vanishes in a whirl of blue fire, and before Akira can do anything else, there are ghostblob fingers grabbing onto his shoes. his confident, fiery expression fades into alarm as he kicks out with one foot, trying to send the blob flying]
-- hey, back off!
[he knows from the earlier Naans that laughter is the way to go, buuuut KIND OF HARD TO LAUGH WHEN BLOBS ARE CLIMBING ON YOU]
Re: PLAYER ACTION
[and he's doing something about that]
The least they can do is provide a little entertainment.
Re: PLAYER ACTION
I doubt they'll make it that easy on us. . .!
Re: PLAYER ACTION
[gesturing to a blobling which is doing a remarkable impression of a drunken stagger due to its confusion status]
Re: PLAYER ACTION
[heh. . .]
[Akira's mouth does twitch upward in amusement as a small heh escapes his lips]
It's a start!

Re: PLAYER ACTION
Re: PLAYER ACTION
Re: PLAYER ACTION
she gives a bloodcurdling scream again as the worst memory in her life appears before her eyes and- oh. Did it really happen? Has the Abyssal magic inside of her fully awakened? No, it must be an illusion, right? Just an illusion? But she can feel it surging inside of her, pulsing, excited-
she drops to her knees, making a keening sound, seemingly heedless of everything around her.]
Re: PLAYER ACTION
Anyway trying to kick these icky things off his shoes? Tries to kick them off (real) Kaiko's shoes?? Gross! Bad! Ow! What does that one mean by paper??]
Re: PLAYER ACTION
but instead said teammate continues to be really moe. which kind of doesn't help the worry or guilt, but does at least make up her mind not to try to put distance between them again. ]
I'm fine, I'm fine, it's really just gross—
no subject
That's why it's not fine!?
no subject
There are worse things than gross, though?
[ t. trying to return the shoe-clearing favor without tripping them both, or shocking him, or anything resulting in one or the other of them eating more shit than is already happening by dint of blobpocalypse ]
(no subject)
Re: PLAYER ACTION
Akira had said something about laughter, but it's hard to find much about this situation funny with the bloblings climbing his and everyone's body. so getting rid of that is his first priority.
he takes a few steps until he's closer to the center of the group, as close as he can get without dodging more blobs. an aura of fierce red light ignites around his fist, and he drives it straight down into the ground.
there's a thunderous roar, and a flare of crimson light, leaving seething cracks in the earth, but for all its fury the wave of light washes over allies untouched. not so the blobs; in addition to the massive shockwave, the wild magic warps them wildly, causing random status effects: sleep, confusion, petrification, burning, you name it, a blob probably gets it.
timur dusts off his hands. now that's entertainment.]
Re: PLAYER ACTION
Re: PLAYER ACTION
Let's go with dealer's choice!
MONSTER REACTION
The blobs are struck with paralysis, sleep, confusion, etcetera - and these effects do seem to stay, at least for the blobs that aren't just straight up damaged. For those that are petrified and burned and frozen, though - ]
MONSTER ACTION
Hlasoh's distraction with her panic might be enough for her to ignore this: the burning at her eyes - maybe those are tears? - as the blob starts eating away wherever it touches, filling into her eyesockets when it dissolves the bodyparts. It seems to be trying to reach into her, somewhere - to activate something. You can do it. You already did it. Just do it again, this is your fate, you know? - the blobs whisper into her ear.
Kaikoblob is - temporarily confused, looking slow to respond with that choice. Then, she smiles.
"Redbluewhite it is!"
From the ceiling drips viscous, red fluid. It smells like iron, but maybe you shouldn't get distracted by that when Kaikoblob is trying to strangle you. All three of you. She has three arms! ]

Re: PLAYER ACTION
[and then he'll yell]
-- hey, everyone! If you have a reason to laugh, take it! Whatever these things are, they don't respond well to laughter!

what's that about laughing. uh. has he laughed a single time since he woke up? maybe not. Ducks down to avoid strangling since surely not!Kaiko can't attempt to strangle him and Eclair at the same time
she probably can.]Re: PLAYER ACTION
....heh...is that the best you can do? If I'd buried Nerat he'd be rolling in his grave at the lack of wordplay!
[it's defiant, strained laughter, but it's laughter all right]

Laugh?! That's so-- That's so stupid!
[But it does kick a bit of the scariness out of it so now he's trying to look at the blobs and imagine something funny. Like, maybe, a certain bird trussed up like a holiday dinner.]

maybe I'm getting strangled but I'm still counting that moment of confusion as a victory because heck you
more importantly, she is absolutely trying to intercept the arms not being used to strangle her by grabbing for their wrists, particularly the one going for Pathiri. that's hers, thank you! you can't have it! it is absolutely awful having to use her hands with the shape her own wrists and arms are in but it isn't like she's hasn't proven she could ignore that before— ]
I thought— I could only pick one?
[ —and then that other boy's shout rings out, and she blinks. and squints.
and then her grin splits a bit wider— because you know what, even if it hurts, even if her head's starting to swim, there's one thing she has figured out pretty solidly about herself. ]
Hey— hey, is that— true? Because you look ridiculous right now—
