[ Good news, everyone! Those pesky cicadas are gone at last! You might have even had a chance to relax, except....

Except for the heat wave.

It's like the worst parts of the last dregs of summer come to torture you with excrutiating heat. It's heat so bad you could swear that you've started melting yourself the second you step outside. It's terrible. At least with the cold you can add more layers on, how are you supposed to deal with heat?? You can't just walk around naked??

(That's not a suggestion.)

Here's the thing about the heat, though: It's bad enough that it's causing mirages-- mirages of people you may even recognize, people who are lost in the dark. People who will try to lead you into danger, people who don't want what's best for you after all....

That aside, you may or may not have noticed that there's some new teammates on the train! The notification appears cheerfully on everyone's Chains:

WELCOME NEW HEROES

And you may find yourself wearing a label you can't seem to remove until you've spoken to at least one other person: "Hi, I'm ______! Talk to me about ______!"

There's a mischievous giggle in the wind that you may recognize as the same one that ran the plants and secrets game. ]

They're incredibly exciting if you know what you're doing.

Ist are for words that usually describe something defining of a person or an ideology. Jobs, certain stances, things like that.

But terror is a very vague word in that pairing.

[Most enemy forces are fully covert until the coup or forthright in their conquest attempts. Not a lot of wide scale fear tactics in Equestria to get terrorism as a concept.]

Well, you're right on the -ist describing it as a person or an ideology. I was spreading... terror. Fear. Using unlawful, violent tactics and intimidation in the pursuit of my goals.

Honestly? I don't remember the details. Which sounds like a copout answer but the memory issues really are there.

But why violence? If you're spreading fear, intimidation does the job fairly well.

Because violence gets people's attention, it gets results.

[ It's not a pleasant answer but it's the truth. ]

[Violence happens. Sometimes its unavoidable, but results come in different ways. Violence is rarely one, unless someone else started it, at least wide scale.]

[She's aggressive for a pony, but wide spread violence still unnerves her.]

[She frowning, studying him, as if trying to figure out a puzzle, but its a very different mindset.]

[ It's an extremist's view and that's what Crow was. He doesn't remember the bigger picture, that's certainly true, but he knows that it's not something to be proud of-- and he knows he didn't regret what he was doing. That it had felt-- not right, but necessary.

And it's understanding this point of view that makes him firm in his stance against Rean's belief that he's somehow a sweet person. Because he knows the things he's capable of without regret.

He stares back at her steadily, not really speaking. His arms are crossed and his stances is loose. He isn't smirking or smiling, he isn't trying to play it off as some kind of joke. It was never a joke. ]

[There was that. He wasn't....wasn't treating it like a joke. Like the old figures she could still remember. The chaos of Discord. The demented malice of Sombra. Though one was incredibly powerful and the other a King. It was all just demented joy for them.]

[And she does feel sure of that conclusion, hand uncurling to fidget with her necklace mindlessly.]

[But still. It was not something she could wrap her head around. Why are humans like this, why is she stuck as one, why why why.]

[She scoffs.] Why am I....? [She mutters and shakes her head. She just needs to fix herself, she can figure out how much she has to deal with humans then.] Okay then. Thanks, I guess.

[And then going to turn to walk away. With 'Hi, I'm ????! Talk to me about my fear of being useless!' on her back because she would have just ditched her clothes if she knew it was on her. Pony sense of modesty.]

Yeah, I wouldn't worry about it. Seems like they're designed to try and bother people. I'd bet you anything mine wanted me to be uncomfortable. Unfortunately, they're dealing with me.
