[This morning, or whenever you wake up, you will find that there are delicious smells wafting from the lounge car. Upon investigation, one will discover a beautiful spread of hot cocoa and tea and coffee and many marshmallow animals, ideal for putting in your drinks or simply eating wholesale. It isn't just cats either, but many animals of a similar quality of marshmallow, whatever kinds you'd like. But you may find the warm fuzzies they impart might be a bit more than internal.

In a conspicuous place is a note in handwriting many of you may find quite familiar at this point:

[UGH WHY THE SUDDEN DERE TO HIS FACE. He looks taken aback a moment and then he laughs, putting a hand over his face.] You're pretty blunt, huh?

But that's not a bad thing. Can be important someone is like that, it can be hard to be super open. [Its easy for him to be supportive. His being open is a whole other story. He's still got some anxiety he's sitting on, a nagging at the back of his mind.]

People might not always do their best, but that's why people help each other. There's a lot of reasons to hold back and other people can help bring out the best and cover weaknesses. Things like that.

For a guy who just woke up with amnesia you have a good sense of things though. You're right. It's only together that people can really cover each other's weaknesses to emphasize all our strengths. I think that's an important perspective.

I also think cats are cocoa are great. And that you look pretty tired, so I'll make it a quick tour.

[He's always been adaptable.] I'm mostly following first impulse. I figure if I lived this long through all the stuff that scarred me up this bad, I probably have fairly good instincts.

But that's probably good, just listening to your gut is the best option probably. Has to have gotten you this far somehow.

[He pauses to gesture at the lounge car.]

[He hums, tilting his his head.] That's one part of it. Another is just...processing. Its a lot. Keeps giving me a headache.

Wouldn't happen to have Advil in the medical car?

We can give it a look. Though if it's a headache I might be able to cast a healing spell for it?

[Though whether that will work or not is up in the air. It really is trying to process information through stress, lost memories, and AI related brain trauma has on his ability to remember.]

Well casting's not my strong point. I'm not bad at it but... That's more 80H or Rufus or Eliza. Still...

[He'll hold his hand out and whisper something and a soothing feeling will wash over... Wash. Whether it helps the headache or not who knows.]

We can see if the first aid kits have any painkillers too if that doesn't work.

Well, it helped the other aches. [From the old injuries.] ...not so much the headache.

[Man if you're still hurting from old scars you really need a nap! But he leads the way to the medical car.]

I haven't really counted. Anyone from my world can use an Arcus, which isn't quite magic but can simulate it.

There's 80H, Eliza, Naeva... I'm betting quite a few others.

What is Arcus then?

...seems like 80H is pretty capable. Fighter and magic.

Yeah. She's pretty strong.

An Arcus... It's basically technology that lets you harness elemental power. It's also pretty handy for other things. I could go into it but I don't want to put you to sleep. Here's the medical car.

What is she like as a person? [Might as well get a broader read on her.]

I really don't think I'd sleep that easy. It sounds interesting if you want to talk about it. [Looking around thoughtfully, slowing down a bit as he does so.]

Eh, it's just technical stuff.

[He'll dig out a first aid kit, open it, and start rummaging.]

As for 80H... Well. She's really stubborn, that's the first thing. And she's really insistent that she's a tool and other stuff like that, meant to help humans. She'll also call you sir or use titles and honorifics over using your name if she can get away with it. Basically, she keeps a lot of distance from people in whatever way she can. She's so guarded, it's sometimes hard for me to talk to her honestly.

But even with all that, she's strong and will help out if you need healing. She's an amazing cook. I'm pretty sure she's great at a lot of things even if she'd put herself down if you said so to her face.

A tool? What is she if she's not human?

Hmm, yeah, all that was the vibe I was getting from her. She was trying real hard to get distance. Glad I'm not wholly off base on my reading.

[Looking over his shoulder into the kit.]

I mean, I'm not human anymore either. Not everyone on the train is. I don't think it matters if you're human or not personally, but she seems to regard herself as inferior.

But yeah, you're not off base. I hope you have better luck getting through to her at least. She could use it, I think. And I can't quite seem to figure out how to communicate with her.

....huh. [silent a moment.] Huh. [At least that just sounds reasonable if unexpected.] What do you mean anymore?

I might. There's a non-zero chance we've met before. So hopefully her attempts to 'protect' me means I got through to her before. Or at least mean that guy I remind her of did.

Oh, I'm a Divine Knight. Well it might be easier to say I'm kind of like a spirit guardian, in a sense.

[Holding up a bottle of painkillers!]

As for 80H, maybe you're from her home? I honestly know pretty much nothing about her or where she's from. If she recognizes you hopefully that's good.

[Will take.] Looks like the stuff. [Reading over the label though before taking two of the pills.]

Might be. She called me Leo-san then changed tracks quick. She didn't seem angry or anything like that, so at least neutral. But I can't call if she knows me or uf it was just a mistaken identity.

You ever ask her those questions?

[Crossing his arms to watch, but he'll put the pills away when Wash is done.]

Hm, I'll tell you all about me if you want. But 80H first. And I'm honestly embarrassed to say we tend to get in infinite recursion arguments and I never get the chance to ask about her. I'll try to break out of the loop and just press next time. She doesn't seem to like talking about herself unless it's to put herself down though.

Let me guess, puts herself dowm, you get positive, she puts herself down again, rinse, repeat?

Not surprising. [Handing back the pill bittle.] Might be possible to come at an angle. Ask how she learned to do things, disguise it as maybe helping yourself improve. Or be honest in that, either way. She's not very good at subtleties, I think, anyone trying to pretend they're terrible who knew what they were doing wouldn't tell people that bluntly.

[He grimaces a little, self-deprecatingly. He starts putting everything away.]

You're right though, maybe I'm being too direct. I don't want to disguise my motives or anything but maybe if we can just talk about things she's interested in it'll help. What I'm doing now definitely isn't working, it's just frustrating both of us.

Yeah, she did that to me too.

It's not really a disguise. You want her to acknowledge the good she can do. She can't teach you things if she's not thinking about it.
