Who: everyone
When: Day 35 morning
Where: the lounge car
[This morning, or whenever you wake up, you will find that there are delicious smells wafting from the lounge car. Upon investigation, one will discover a beautiful spread of hot cocoa and tea and coffee and many marshmallow animals, ideal for putting in your drinks or simply eating wholesale. It isn't just cats either, but many animals of a similar quality of marshmallow, whatever kinds you'd like. But you may find the warm fuzzies they impart might be a bit more than internal.
In a conspicuous place is a note in handwriting many of you may find quite familiar at this point:
His signature isn't alone, either. There are a couple of others, though somehow they're far less readable? Some are definitely just little drawings. Weird.]
[[ooc notes: 10% furry event!! many marshmallows have no effect, but those that do will instill temporary animal parts up to a kemonomimi level! enjoy your ears and tails, folks. and your newbies.]]

[More like he doesn't like being seen as incapable.]
How about that for the next spot on our tour, where would be a good place to spar?
no subject
[Leading the way!]
no subject
So how far out until it apparently gets dangerous?

[Here we are outside though whoo.]
This is probably the safest spot for casual training.
no subject
[Though he pauses, reaching back to his neck.] Well, the distance stuff. I don't think I've got anything for ranged attacks. Your call on closer range once we get started. I've got something on my spine, so there's a chance I have some physical augmentation.
no subject
[That's no reason to go all out for a bit of a physical test.]
no subject
[He nods and turns to Rean.] Okay, come at me first, that'd probably be best way for instincts to kick in. [And while his demeanor had been fairly open and friendly so far, there's definitely a]
[Shift]
[Expression to something neutral, but focused, the relaxed airs vanishing completely.]
no subject
He settles easily into a lose stance, feet spread and balanced, facing Wash with a calm and friendly expresion as he looks him over, categorizes how he's holding himself.]
Ready?
[That's a warning more than a question, because without changing his relaxed manner Rean's lunging in to strike at Wash's chest open-palmed. Fast, but not untrackable, and if the blow does hit there won't be much impact in it. He's starting light, they can ramp up as he gets a feel for Wash's strength.]
no subject
[He holds up his hands, spreads his stance, practiced and balanced, if a little bit too by the book.]
[But he does react, grabbing at his wrist, side stepping and directing his arm away from his body, quickly followed by a knee towards his back.]
[And for someone of Rean's caliber, it's probably very clear. Wash's reaction time is exceptional. Not quite supernatural, but it's a level of speed most humans wouldn't be capable of. And he's definitely strong, he could lift a log pretty handedly.]
no subject
Wash can't see it but Rean grins. Alright. No more total baby mode. That's a good reaction time. Very very good.
He goes with the pull and the knee to his back, flowing with the impact and turning in Wash's hold to grab his arm and attempt to use that momentum to throw the bigger man over his shoulder.]
no subject
[And another thing is while Wash is definitely a big dude, he feels heavier than he looks. Extra dense muscles and bones that are near unbreakable does that.]
[He is surprised when he starts to go because Rean does not look particularly big, but he hits the ground in a roll, and the moment his feet hit the ground, he launches back with a punch towards his face.]
[And doesn't actually stop, following up towards his chest, then his stomache, then hitting up with a knee, because his practice is chaining as many hits in succession as he can, even if they're not particularly hard. Well, to what his could be.]
no subject
Man okay. You're fast. Strong too. You're also way too heavy, are your bones made of lead? I don't think you have to worry too much about self-defense, if you get that training honed under control. Or you could just sit on anything that bugs you. You are heavy, did I mention that?
no subject
[He has to remind himself because it takes a moment to realize he's under the thought to not let up at all.]
[He is a war of attrition. There's a reason being tired doesn't really slow him down.]
[He has to deliberately move back, keeping light on his feet, hands raised again more defensively, but giving Rean space now.]
Told you there was a chance I had augmentation. Have computer chips at the base of my skull. Combined with the scars, seemed a good bet there was something done to increase my ability to take a hit. Or a grenade, in some cases.
You're pretty strong for how thin you are. Wouldn't peg you to flip a guy my size without any weird stuff added on.
[And there's a change again. A little less serious, a little more playful and snarky.]
no subject
A grenade. Aidios that's nuts. I'm not sure I could have flipped you as a human, not without taking this a lot more seriously than would be healthy.
[He doesn't remember his life really, or exactly what he used to be capable of, but he has the feeling that to even think of flipping Wash he'd have had to go pretty hard.]
Like I said. I'm something of a spirit guardian, so I'm basically just cheating at this point. I'm not going to tell you not to hold back though, I'd appreciate if you do hold back in fact.
[His mana reserves are still low and if Wash got in a lucky strike Rean would rather it not reflect back on his contractors.]
You feel like going a little more or have you figured out what you want to know?
no subject
[He tilts his head, thinking.] Definitely have hand combat training. Redirect and follow through, don't stop moving, don't give a breather... [Muttering.] Might be good until I gauge my strength better on something not a person. Just to know what I am working with. I think I got enough to at least start working out what I need to do, and when someone is a little more prepared to deal with what I could dish out.
[He hums. Then he looks around and picks up a few small rocks.] One more test. [He tosses them over.] I want to see how I react to ranged attacks.
no subject
[He catches the rocks.]
Heads up.
[He throws them, in quick succession, fast. They'll sting like hell if they hit but Rean's not playing so soft now that he's seen some of what Wash can do.]
no subject
[And again, there was that quick reaction, and he's quick to dodge the first, twisting out of the way of the second, and actually catching the third with barely a grimace, free hand reaching down for a weapon that's not there.]
.....okay, so. Very used to using a gun of some kind. [Dropping the rock and shaking out his hand.] And really good at judging trajectories. Man, that stings.
no subject
A gun though huh? Soldier, maybe? Or possibly a jaeger?
no subject
It seems likely. Definitely some kind of fighter and I'm really for teamwork, so military seems like a good bet. [Pause.] Jaeger? That's...German?
no subject
[Says the guy with the last name Schwarzer.]
Jaeger's are what we call high level mercenaries, where I'm from.
no subject
[He considers for a moment.]
Maybe? Though Mercs can be a little more working for themselves.
