[This morning, or whenever you wake up, you will find that there are delicious smells wafting from the lounge car. Upon investigation, one will discover a beautiful spread of hot cocoa and tea and coffee and many marshmallow animals, ideal for putting in your drinks or simply eating wholesale. It isn't just cats either, but many animals of a similar quality of marshmallow, whatever kinds you'd like. But you may find the warm fuzzies they impart might be a bit more than internal.

In a conspicuous place is a note in handwriting many of you may find quite familiar at this point:

I'm very old and between being summoned I sleep for a long time. My mana gets low, so things like memories kind of... slip away. I'll eventually regain them at my own pace. I think at least.

No it's fine. I think I remember more by default than anyone with train amnesia, so it's not that big a deal.

Um... Well. Yes. I can usually restore it ambiently but there aren't any Septium veins in this world. I can also restore it by taking it from people by having a contact with them, and, uh, other ways.

A contract? What kind of contract? And what other ways?

....is it blood? Is this like a vampire thing?

Normally I'd only be woken to form a contract with one awakener and up to nine secondary contractors, in a time of crisis or war, a period of change for history. My soul bound to my awakener until death. I'd offer them my power and they would lend me mana through our bond.

As things are here, I have a contract with two people sustaining me.

And no, I don't drink blood. It works be a really inefficient, messy, and gross way to gain mana.

Everyone has mana. It's kind of like your life force. Some people have more I guess, or can manipulate it better, like those who use magic, but it's in everyone. I actually don't know if there's a way to end a contract here. Usually once would have to undergo trials to awaken me but... I've been winging it a lot. I certainly don't know how to end a contract, at any rate.

Probably. I just mean....I'm open to the idea. Especially since we're all doing important work and you're a good person who shouldn't like...I don't know? Some kind of suffering if it can be helped.

It doesn't hurt to hear out the details, especially if you'd feel better with more support.

As for being a contractor... it's something you should know about more and maybe talk to Randy and Crow to get a good picture, but I'm not likely to refuse if ultimately you decide that's something you actually want with me.

Apparently there used to be more. I don't know the maximum amount myself. But if the doors in the cabins are any indication most teams seem at half capacity or under.
