The Fourth Trial
Who: Heroes
When: Day 9, Midday
Where: The Dragon's Tower
Come hither, Heroes. Prove thy worth.
The earth rumbles beneath your feet with a mighty roar. This time a crumbling stone tower looms above you, unscalable and unbreachable. At the top of the tower is a single window with a single light, beckoning. The only entrance at the base is an arched wooden door which creaks in protest when you open it.
Upon entering the tower you will find yourself in a large room with high walls constructed of dark, uneven brick stone. The ceiling is so high that you cannot see anything but darkness as torches lining the walls serve as the only source of light. The room itself is achingly cold. It’s reminiscent of a dungeon… or a treasure room.
But the only treasure to be found lies in the middle of the room; a small pile of seven bracelets, each one inlaid with a beautiful jewel corresponding to each team’s color. It may be fairly obvious, but just in case anyone is slow on the uptake:
“What is it that you treasure in this world? What are you willing to give up? Until you can decide that much, you will not be allowed to leave this room. It matters not to me if you rot in here.
However, I will tell you this much; should you decide who among you is most precious, only they may bear the weight of your altruism.”

also, sticking closely to other jasmines and deliberately avoiding other people, but you can probably catch him while he's fucking around ]
Re: ENDGAME
are you tired of this yet. ]
Re: ENDGAME
Kawanokami!
[ finding her, actually ]
Let's go home already. That was really tiresome, right?

does he not know she's not 80H? that seems hard to believe. for someone like him, even if he isn't positive, he has to have noticed something being odd, but she can't be sure. but what is she supposed to do? where is she supposed to go, exactly? should she just go back to jasmine's carriage until this is done, since she has 80H's chain, or should they exchange them? it's -
the stress of being in this body is different enough from her own that it's almost relieving, the kudzu and those other hungers aren't exactly welcome, but she feels content to take them in stride in comparison, but
even if that's not her name, that's his face and his voice, ushering her home after what certainly was a long day, and ]

Yeah, it was pretty stressful. I didn't know you were such a delicate girl, but that's kind of cute, too.
[ with one arm over his shoulder he's trying to pull her, which, you know, servant strength ]
Let's go home.

by even harder i mean that he's not terribly rough but he is much more insistent, if he has to bodily pick her up he will ]

He can just pull her along. ]

she just sticks around there for a bit, overwhelmed, gasping his name out between sobs. just like, you know, in case he thought he might possibly have misheard her ]
Shirou . . . Shirou -

so it really is like that.
he thinks, briefly. how should he kill her? no, that isn't right. if he kills her, then it'll be suspicious. plus, she's in his teammate's body, not her own - so that would just be a mess.
kill her later. find information now. yes, do it that way. ]

... Why are you apologizing to me...?

[ quietly ]
You're crying.

... That isn't your fault. It's simply -
[ where does she even start? she would've preferred to have kept watching him from afar so he wouldn't be bothered with her, but she already said his name, didn't she? and he stopped. does he know who he is? how much does he know?
she rolls her head against his hand a little forgetful of the situation, as if on reflex, heavy ]
... It's simply that - I was happy to see you...
no subject
[ with a firm tone, though gentle around the edges ]
You know that, right?
no subject
[ with some weariness to it. ]
... No, rather... I suppose it's best that I first ask the extent of your own memories. Do you remember very much...?
[ and with a pause, looking up at him through her eyelashes, just barely, ]
You are Masuda Shirou, aren't you...?
no subject
[ steadily, without a hint of anything betraying him in his eyes ]
I don't recognize what that is. Is that supposed to be my name?
no subject
[ but that's easily contributed to him not remembering his name and being surprised to hear her call one, so she doesn't pursue that line of thought much further. he could be asking leading questions to figure out what she knows - it wouldn't be that out of character, but whether that's true or not he's not the one being interrogated here. ]
Yes, that's correct. You were born into the Masuda family in the year 1621 and given the name of Shirou, followed at some time by the baptismal name of Francisco. I -
If there is anything that you would like to know, please - ask me. I will put forth my utmost efforts to seeing your questions answered.
