Who: You
When: Day 52, morning
Where: Anywhere
[Of course there's still the flowers that, when stepped on, enhance or dull a sense, and there are still some chocolates in the lounge if you missed them or want more.
But this morning dawns with an infestation of bats.
That is, tiny tiny clockwork bats that get in your hair and coffee and make tiny tiny clockwork bat screeches.
Should you encounter a clockwork bat, and they're pretty hard to dodge, the next person you talk to will... Well, see one of your memories.
Otherwise it seems like a pretty typical morning, and the bats will be gone by afternoon.]

[ she'd hate it too, not going to lie ]
I guess you could say that I'm lucky, but it's not like I really had abilities to begin with.

Everyone has some ability. It just depends how clever you are in application.

I'm just normal?
[ which is a lie, but she's keeping her stuff on the down low ]

And if abilities are supposed to be like memories, it makes sense talents are taken.
I mean, sure, humans don't have Cutie Marks, but so far no one has had no skills? I'd assume the talents are just harder to confirm.

there's quite a bit to unpack here ]
So like not knowing how to ride a bike.
Well, I guess I wouldn't say that I've forgotten how to do the things I'm decent at, although I'm aware that there will always be someone that's better than I am at them.

Because it's one thing to have a hard time figuring out a special talent, but to just not have one is incredibly depressing.

[ she laughs a little bit to herself more than anything ]
I wouldn't say it's depressing, in my opinion. Sure, there's others that are going to be better at me at things that I'd like to say I'm good at, but that's only because I'm only human. Besides, not being especially good at one thing just means I can be the jack of all trades. So it doesn't really bother me or anything.
[ it is irritating though that there are people better at her at things she is especially skilled at but. ]

Even being a jack of all trades is one. It's adaptability or intelligence, depending on the trades.

Honestly, I'm all about learning as much as I can. I mostly specialize in analysis and stuff like that. Gathering information is pretty much my forte.
no subject
See, that's an important talent.

[ she took pride in analysis, but she knows there are two people better than her at that. a detective and his rival.
even when she got the ability to nullify with her own two hands, there was someone who had that - an even better version.
and even computers. . .
there were times, admittedly, where she just felt inadequate in comparison, and it shows in her slightly pitiful smile. ]
I suppose. I just know people who are still way better at it than I am.
[ and it does suck!
but.
she is aware it can't be helped. ]
But it's still something that I take pride in.

The young are always gonna have betters. It takes time to be the best.

But I don't like the idea of being like, necessarily. . . 'the best' at something? It kind of feels conceited.
