Who: Everyone
When: Day 43, Nighttime
Where: The clearing, now no longer a beach

[ The beach fades away, leaving everyone back in the comfortable and familiar surroundings of the clearing and their-- beloved?-- train. There are some new stars in the sky, twinkling in ginger goldenrod, thyme apple, senna terracotta, jasmine blue, and clover pink.

The sound of a giggle fills the air and leaves behind bubbles-- touching one will give the uncontrollable urge to hug the nearest person. They will persist throughout the night. ]

[ shaking his head at the question ]

No, not yet. I haven't had the chance to talk with my opponent yet. But considering we won and his team didn't, I'm pretty sure it's a win for me.

As for the distance I'm looking for — I can't move myself or anything else for long distances, and that's when I'm at the peak of my powers. It'd be visible distances only.

Pick up those rocks on your next run.

I'll have them tomorrow morning then.

[Everyday is leg day.]

Might be safer that way, visible distance thing. Teleporters back hope always needed a a device at the entrance and exit because calculating for the movement of celestial bodies was a nightmare.

How far could they teleport?
schrodingerscockroach: (Tired)

[personal profile] schrodingerscockroach 2019-10-15 12:04 pm (UTC)(link)
Usually it's just for on world to possible orbiting stations.

There are some that can go to other planets in the same system, but that's usually if people go to a teleporter nexus set up for emergencies.

It's not recommended to use those if you don't have to and definitely not without protection. There's extreme heat and it can be very hard on a person just....laws of physics wise. Bigger the distance, the worst the effects.

Makes sense. They were based on technology, not any one's person own ability, were they?
schrodingerscockroach: (Well we could)

[personal profile] schrodingerscockroach 2019-10-15 12:22 pm (UTC)(link)
[Nods.] Slipspace technology. Same thing our ships use.

Most of our abilities are based on technology. If there's anything like natural superhero abilities, it's not a commonplace thing to happen. Genkins, Church, and....Caboose? Are the only ones who might not be a technology thing that I could give a specific example about.

[personal profile] time5kip 2019-10-15 12:27 pm (UTC)(link)
Considering how advanced the technology shown in your memories seems to be, that checks out. Doubt they'd have bothered to make advancements like that if people could do those things naturally.

Abilities like mine aren't common in my world either. My siblings and I are the only ones I know of.
schrodingerscockroach: (She's a terrorist)

[personal profile] schrodingerscockroach 2019-10-15 12:31 pm (UTC)(link)
At least do it naturally and have it be widespread. Competition is a hell of a motivator.

Really? So like, a sudden gene mutation, or was it an actual experiment?
time5kip: (pic#13090295)

[personal profile] time5kip 2019-10-15 12:39 pm (UTC)(link)
No experimentation, as far as I'm aware. Luther and I are from the same mother, but for all I know, that was the only case. There were 43 mothers across the world who gave birth simultaneously, despite not having been pregnant when the day had started.

My father got his hands on 7 of us. Everyone else, well. They probably died.
schrodingerscockroach: (...what)

[personal profile] schrodingerscockroach 2019-10-15 12:42 pm (UTC)(link)
That is....certainly some weird other worldly powers at work there. That might actually be weirder than Tucker having an alien baby.
time5kip: (pic#13096925)

[personal profile] time5kip 2019-10-15 12:50 pm (UTC)(link)
No, a guy having an alien baby is still definitely weirder.
schrodingerscockroach: (Will let a man fight gravity)

[personal profile] schrodingerscockroach 2019-10-15 12:55 pm (UTC)(link)
....yeah, does push it over a little bit that he's a guy. Alien should be hard enough, let alone whatever that did to his system to work.

But it is close. Mass spontaneous pregnancy is still really weird.
time5kip: (pic#13090195)

[personal profile] time5kip 2019-10-15 12:57 pm (UTC)(link)
Maybe it was aliens in our case too. It's as valid a theory as anything else.
schrodingerscockroach: (Too many cats to hold)

[personal profile] schrodingerscockroach 2019-10-15 12:59 pm (UTC)(link)
True. Would explain the odd number of forty-three. Forty-four babies if you had a twin?

Not sure why the short incubation period though.
time5kip: (pic#13522576)

[personal profile] time5kip 2019-10-15 01:06 pm (UTC)(link)
Had a busy schedule. You know. [ making a gesture toward him ] They had to impregnate your friend as well. Aliens these days can't catch a break.
schrodingerscockroach: (Accepted the dumbassery)

[personal profile] schrodingerscockroach 2019-10-15 01:08 pm (UTC)(link)
[He snorts.] Keeping up the population of a new hybrid species is busy work.

We should have said those with the intention of making a bond out of it. Wasted chance.
schrodingerscockroach: (Sass in armor)

[personal profile] schrodingerscockroach 2019-10-15 01:16 pm (UTC)(link)
That's a simple fix.

How do you get an alien baby to sleep?
time5kip: (Default)

[personal profile] time5kip 2019-10-15 01:18 pm (UTC)(link)
Are we going full black humor for this or is it a normal answer? Because mine would involve bullets.

Especially considering some of the movies involving aliens I saw as a child.
schrodingerscockroach: (Accepted the dumbassery)

Bond

[personal profile] schrodingerscockroach 2019-10-15 01:25 pm (UTC)(link)
Eh, babies may not be so bad if the species is intelligent.

And the answer is you rocket.

[personal profile] time5kip 2019-10-15 01:29 pm (UTC)(link)
Nice one.

[ he's actually smiling ]
schrodingerscockroach: (That's adorable)

[personal profile] schrodingerscockroach 2019-10-15 01:57 pm (UTC)(link)
[Yes, winning.]

Thank you.

Can you teleport moving objects?
time5kip: (pic#13096916)

[personal profile] time5kip 2019-10-15 02:00 pm (UTC)(link)
Theoretically. Whether it's moving or not doesn't really matter, but my powers require a concentrated effort. I wouldn't be able to do it in time depending on the speed of the object itself. If a bulled is coming at me it'd be easier to just teleport myself away rather than switch it around.
schrodingerscockroach: (Well we could)

[personal profile] schrodingerscockroach 2019-10-16 01:54 am (UTC)(link)
[Nods.] That's good to know. [Sometimes it's important to know if your teammate can dodge or deflect bullets.]

Switch it around? Like fire it back or...?
time5kip: (pic#13096926)

[personal profile] time5kip 2019-10-16 03:04 pm (UTC)(link)
When it comes to objects I don't just teleport them. I switch them around. Like this.

[ He's going to show it off again - switching around a pair of pants with a shirt ]
