[ The beach fades away, leaving everyone back in the comfortable and familiar surroundings of the clearing and their-- beloved?-- train. There are some new stars in the sky, twinkling in ginger goldenrod, thyme apple, senna terracotta, jasmine blue, and clover pink.

The sound of a giggle fills the air and leaves behind bubbles-- touching one will give the uncontrollable urge to hug the nearest person. They will persist throughout the night. ]

Can you teleport moving objects?

Theoretically. Whether it's moving or not doesn't really matter, but my powers require a concentrated effort. I wouldn't be able to do it in time depending on the speed of the object itself. If a bulled is coming at me it'd be easier to just teleport myself away rather than switch it around.

[Nods.] That's good to know. [Sometimes it's important to know if your teammate can dodge or deflect bullets.]

Switch it around? Like fire it back or...?

When it comes to objects I don't just teleport them. I switch them around. Like this.

It's a limitation. "Teleportation" isn't correct - what I do is manipulate space and time. Well. Just space in this case, really.

I can move myself from one place to another, but when it comes to objects I can only replace them with another.

Objects need to be of similar mass, I take it?

Not necessarily, but the more similar they are to each other, the easier it is. I probably wouldn't be able to switch around a car with a pen, but I can handle a certain degree of difference.

[Nods.] So similar weight and size just for more certainty and less headache?

Why is yourself free from that limit?

Your guess is as good as mine. I have absolutely no idea.

Huh. Can you do the switch thing with people?

If one of those people is myself. Takes a lot of energy, though. I only do that if absolutely necessary.

....might be a balance of effect thing.

Like an object can't do anything alone, and even if its used, those uses are limited. You have its intended use and a lot of other potential uses could still work with something of similar size and weight. The potential effects of that switch are limited without outside factors.

A person somewhere else is a whole butterfly effect of things. They can act on their own and no two people are exactly alike.

If you were like a time and space effect blindspot, that could cover why you move easily and why you can brute force someone to your space. Only taking away potentials in an area, not adding.

You're having the time of your life with all this theorizing, aren't you.

[Tilts his head thoughtfully. Then shrugs.] A bit. Better than contingency plans for possibly ways everything could go to shit.

Makes me feel slightly less like a paranoid conspiracy nut.
