[Another morning, another Trial! Ugh.

At least this one seems normal, starting out with a shake and the Hermit’s booming voice:]

"Good morning, Heroes. You can guess why you're being called, but before we begin I have an official statement. The Prince of Stars and associates were not responsible for yesterday's Trial. It appears the system was copied by a Malicious entity -- we apologize for any confusion and are doing our best to locate this entity and find a way to prevent any such incidents in the future.

In the meantime, we've scheduled a low-stress Trial for today to lift your spirits. With teamwork and a little silliness, let's search for unity and peace within ourselves."

[The Hermit's tent is in the clearing, awaiting your arrival.]

You really think Felix, the extremely optimistic, supportive, helpful guy, would actually deny helping you or something?

... why would he help the worst part of himself?

I have no idea. I do not have such insight. I assume it is just who he is.

I don't get it either. How he can be so continually supportive and upbeat and optimistic about people. Even when they aren't of themselves.

But he is. And he does it consistently. And there are people on this train who've done bad things.

But he seems to trust everyone.

And you're a person whose not himself.

And I can confirm it for him.

He would want to help you because it's what he does.

Why do you want to help me? Did you not assume I was trying to kill you?

[Because she might have an evil darkness in her because she sure Felt Something with the dark snake god.]

Because I want to help Felix and he seems the type to hate someone being miserable for his sake, but I also don't want him to be asleep forever.

And also I might be one of the few on board who could effectively help with this and since I have reasons to want to and no one else is likely to be good at it, then I should?

And....well, it kind of sucks when you can't be totally at peace with your body.

[ Assessing all that for how much validity he feels it has...

He eventually folds his arms across his chest and looks to the side, his bat-like wings folding against his back as well and the crater between him and Solar slowly closing ]

Well, we really should talk to Felix.

I could do a proper mindscape spell. It'd allow access to everything, which makes it hard to find specific things, but I'm not entirely sure how this works. [Gestures to herself.] But the mindscape spell means as long as I just follow personality aspects, I could avoid diving into memories themselves, and if there's a physical link, I should be able to find it. Especially if you're willing me to find it, it's always easier to find the thing being sought if the host is cooperating.

I cannot leave until I can be sure we will be safe. At the very least from intentional self-inflicted harm.

Which sounds like a need to talk to Felix thing...

How am I supposed to have a conversation with him?

Why?

Because it is not shared. If he is awake, the surroundings become his. That is the nature of perception, of believing you are alone. I was never granted that luxury.

And if he doesn't think he's alone?

I'd be there, it might be enough to keep him more aware.

It does not work that way. You will have to show him the truth without my presence. Only when he truly acknowledges can he see any of this.

I could do it out there. It's just an offshoot of illusion magic anyway.
