Newbies + Monthly Prompts!

Who: Everyone
When: Day 47, morning
Where: the Aurora

[It's that time again: this morning, you're awoken by the jingle associated with an official message from your Chain -- the usual "newbie time" balloon animation and text:]
WELCOME NEW HEROES

[This round's newbies are waking up in their rooms, in the usual nondescript undies or team pyjamas.

Outside, the cold snap has broken. It's back to jungle warmth, though the sudden change in temperature appears to have caused a thick fog. So thick, in fact, that you can't see more than a few feet in front of you -- and it doesn't burn off with the daylight.

For the next few days, Origin Star will be lost in the mist, and should you venture too far, you may be too. Because out there in the humid dim are willow-the-wisps, faint lights in the fog that will lead you to perilous terrain or into the jaws of beasts.

Sometimes, you may also hear a voice -- a distant song from across the sea, in the direction of the corrupted island. If you get too close, long and spindly arms will reach out of the water and pull you down, for a kiss from a scaly human-like being that sucks all the emotion out of you and leaves you feeling hollow and lacking empathy for others. The cure is time -- you'll be better in a day or so, but you can speed it up by basking in the warm feelings of others.]

[[OOC NOTES: As the monthly prompts, the fog and mermaids will continue until next month's placements. If you have any questions, please ping the mods via the q&a. Thank you!]]

[kind of laughgrimaces and glazes over the 80H issue,]

Stunhalberd! I used to be more of a big fuckoff gunsword sorta guy, but that weapon's really finicky and needs a lotta specialty stuff. The halberd suits me more these days.
comingstorm: (I had to go)

Stunhalberd? That's a new one to me. As is a gun sword.
crimeson: (find a way)

[personal profile] crimeson 2019-11-17 10:42 am (UTC)(link)
I don't mind showing off.

[STUNHALBERD: OUT]

[Why are some people rpg characters.]

It does suit your stature.

[it is Literally Bigger Than Rean]

Yeah, I get more out of it than most could, probably.
comingstorm: (Sorry to leave)

[personal profile] comingstorm 2019-11-17 10:57 am (UTC)(link)
[It's bigger than Sousei too.]

Even I would have a hard time swinging that.
crimeson: (you'll take the west train)

[personal profile] crimeson 2019-11-17 10:59 am (UTC)(link)
That's fair. It's uh, bigger than the standard issue.
comingstorm: (What do I stand for?)

[personal profile] comingstorm 2019-11-17 11:00 am (UTC)(link)
Well, you're a large man.
crimeson: (i'm sorry brother)

dear gmail where the fuck was my notif

[personal profile] crimeson 2019-11-18 07:26 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, it follows.

So, what do you use for god-hunting?
comingstorm: (What are we waiting for?)

A team of martial exorcists specially trained for it, hundreds of years of passed down knowledge on the thing, and the awareness of who it's potential hosts might be. The actual god killing is relatively easy if you catch it early.
crimeson: (believe me when i say)

ok this time i just sucked

Mm, I guess that makes sense. Information is usually the strongest weapon.
