[It's that time again: this morning, you're awoken by the jingle associated with an official message from your Chain -- the usual "newbie time" balloon animation and text:]

WELCOME NEW HEROES

[This round's newbies are waking up in their rooms, in the usual nondescript undies or team pyjamas.

Outside, the cold snap has broken. It's back to jungle warmth, though the sudden change in temperature appears to have caused a thick fog. So thick, in fact, that you can't see more than a few feet in front of you -- and it doesn't burn off with the daylight.

For the next few days, Origin Star will be lost in the mist, and should you venture too far, you may be too. Because out there in the humid dim are willow-the-wisps, faint lights in the fog that will lead you to perilous terrain or into the jaws of beasts.

Sometimes, you may also hear a voice -- a distant song from across the sea, in the direction of the corrupted island. If you get too close, long and spindly arms will reach out of the water and pull you down, for a kiss from a scaly human-like being that sucks all the emotion out of you and leaves you feeling hollow and lacking empathy for others. The cure is time -- you'll be better in a day or so, but you can speed it up by basking in the warm feelings of others.]

[Jasmine is legit, but she's not biased, nosiree.

She will put on an apron before leading them to the bathroom. It is, sadly, not upgraded yet, but it's not bad at all.

She does consider the sex party room, but that might not be kosher with Crow. It's always been just between them.]

Please take your time, though the food will not take too long. I have done some prep for it, this morning.

[well a functional modern bathroom is still more than morin has seen uh, ever, and khuur doesn't exactly remember them very clearly, so it's STILL IMPRESSIVE BY THEIR GRIMY STANDARDS.]

No one is due back until much later, I think. If I feel as though I need more, I will have time, but it should be fine.

[when they leave she sets about washing their clothes and starting to cook but she

starts to cry just a little bit again before she wipes her tears her tears away and gets to making a really great curry.

she simply cannot believe they're here...she tries to fight against an anxiety that buds at letting them go out of her sight, but no, no that's irrational

No, she needs to focus. All her meat and vegetables are chopped and ready and seasoned, everything just needs to be assembled and while it all simmers, she washes rice before putting it in the cooker.

Maybe if she just knocks--no.

But as the pot stews, the aroma of delicious food permeates the kitchen and travels throughout the cabin.]

they maybe kind of fall asleep in the bath, send help?]

[when it's been a while she will come to check on them and finds them sleeping.

which is cute.

she's not worried and she's seen them naked a few times so she will gather them up bridal style and dress them in jasmine spares while the dress is being washed before placing them on her bed. She sits next to them brushing her hand through their hair. She will stay with them until they wake.]
