Newbies + Monthly Prompts!
Who: Everyone
When: Day 47, morning
Where: the Aurora
[It's that time again: this morning, you're awoken by the jingle associated with an official message from your Chain -- the usual "newbie time" balloon animation and text:]
[This round's newbies are waking up in their rooms, in the usual nondescript undies or team pyjamas.
Outside, the cold snap has broken. It's back to jungle warmth, though the sudden change in temperature appears to have caused a thick fog. So thick, in fact, that you can't see more than a few feet in front of you -- and it doesn't burn off with the daylight.
For the next few days, Origin Star will be lost in the mist, and should you venture too far, you may be too. Because out there in the humid dim are willow-the-wisps, faint lights in the fog that will lead you to perilous terrain or into the jaws of beasts.
Sometimes, you may also hear a voice -- a distant song from across the sea, in the direction of the corrupted island. If you get too close, long and spindly arms will reach out of the water and pull you down, for a kiss from a scaly human-like being that sucks all the emotion out of you and leaves you feeling hollow and lacking empathy for others. The cure is time -- you'll be better in a day or so, but you can speed it up by basking in the warm feelings of others.]
[[OOC NOTES: As the monthly prompts, the fog and mermaids will continue until next month's placements. If you have any questions, please ping the mods via the q&a. Thank you!]]

Have you any additional questions?
no subject
What are you working on?
[This is an important additional question right]

[not what she expected but what the hey]

[He doesn't remember a lot of anything, but looking at all these flowers and realising he doesn't know the name of a single one suddenly strikes him how empty it feels in his head. Such basic things, lost.]
Where will you decorate with them? In your room, or are they for the public ones?

[she holds one up]
This is a rose. [she holds another, strange one. It is blue and red and looks like a powerful flame] But I do not know what to call this. How to classify it. It is a little irritating, actually. It--ah, I am getting ahead of myself. I will keep some in my room and give away the rest, if people wish them. If I start to decorate public spaces, I will not stop until...well, I would not stop for a while, let us say.

Your mystery flower arrangements are pretty. Is there a library around here? Perhaps there’s a book on otherworldly flower classifications.
no subject
And pardon me.
[she stands up to bow.]
I am 80H. A pleasure.
no subject
I see. It’s nice to meet you 80H, I...
[Damn it be doesn’t remember his name for introductions]
no subject
And you are...? Unless you do not yet recall?

[said automatically.]
A moment...what colours do you like. Do not force it, simply think of what appeals to you in this moment.
no subject
Colours I like... Yellow. Blue. White.

but he must not be having a good time, so she thinks to make something a little more involved and adds a few traditional implements.
in the end, it is something like this but in the colours he requested.]
Here.

It’s lovely. Thank you, 80H.

[but she is a little bit pink underneath her blindfold.]
It should bring you good health and luck.
no subject
Lucky me, I’ll look forward to that. I’ll take good care of the flowers.
no subject
[wow don't put the cart before the horse and all that.]
Very well. If you need another arrangement at some point, do let me know.
[she likes getting sparks.]

...I need the practise. I have not been keeping up with this as much as I would like, so I do not mind making more for you in the future.
no subject
Is this for, um, for sparks?
