Where: The clearing

[ In the morning, all heroes can wake up to see a new trial is being held! Following the door that appears in the clearing will lead to a Very Scary, faux-abandoned house. There are all the markings of terrible Halloween decorations, for those that are familiar with it. There are fake spiderwebs all around, fake bats, skeletons, and even spider skeletons.

There are several different tables spread across the room - one has a pile of small, sticky spiders in it, then there's one where people can get refreshments, if they so wish, and all others have tons and tons of pumpkins sitting there. None of those are carved - though there are several carved, lit pumpkins spread across the room - just sitting on the floor.

Notably there is a runway, and behind that, a room in which people may grab costumes, or pieces of costume. Make up is also provided.

Finn can be seen at the end of the Runway, aptly wearing his Spider-Man costume, before he begins to explain ]

So! I've recently found out I fight crazy people for a, huh, possibly living. Whether I get paid or not is still under debate. And who would have thought, there's a costumed guy for every occasion. There's no better way to drive off the mental image of a guy fighting with a flaming pumpkin on his head than make better memories, so I'm imposing Halloween on you all.

For those of you who are not in the known, what with us being all from different worlds and stuff, Halloween is, huh ... probably an actual serious holiday somewhere, somehow, but in practice it's all about the money, baby! And scary stuff. And sharing scary stories and getting candy.

So there you have it. A game to get some actual fun Halloween action that does not involve people barely avoiding getting brutally murdered and blown up. Not speaking of anyone in particular here.

Just nothing about horses.

Okay, I got one.

In a little village, life was pretty good. The harvests were bountiful, the businesses were enough to supply the citizens, and the local school house had wonderful teachers. It was a good place to grow up. Mostly.

You see, this village was by the woods. Which were fine to a certain point, but little ones were told to not wander too far.

But as to be expected of young foals, bullying happened. None more than those who hadn't gotten their Cutie Mark yet. And as children who are mercilessly bullied will often run to wherever they think they will have peace.

They would go to the woods, a bit too deep.

But then they would be back the next day, with three new friends. Young fillies all too eager to help them try to find that special thing that will get them their Cutie Mark. There would be weeks of fun and laughter.

But the adults would never see the three fillies. Only feel dread if they hear about them.

By the time the next school year starts, the young bullied foal shall disappear. Only to be found a week later, deep in the fields of the pear orchard.

Dead, claimed by the three fillies to play for all eternity, never to find their destinies.

I was with you until I got really confused about the Cutie Mark thing.

Cutie Marks are a pony thing.

Every pony has a special talent. Something they're basically made to do. Sometimes this is straight froward like a seamstress has a needle and thread. Sometimes, things are more abstract, like they're meant to be super fast or really good at magic or things like that.

Every pony discovers this talent by the time they're an adult. When they do, the mark appears on their flank.

What's your mark?

Gonna say that's a share thing, by the way.

That's pretty cool. And kind of unexpected.

[ He's working on his next pumpkin. It might start looking like an ax coincidentally. ]

Yeah, 'cause it was a trick.

I didn't exactly get a good look at my flank. I don't know what it is.

Yeah, see how it shimmers?

Well, I mean, it is scales. Not sure if mermaids are extra sparkly, anything related to ponies are always sparkly.

[And actually, she did have to do that spicy because I'm a disaster.]

[So yes, going to offer up the spicy candy.] Here, this stuff seems to have some bite to it.

Why are ponies sparkly?

Yeah, basically. [Sighs.]

....another thing to share.

It's because of the high magic. Like, creatures of my world are still more colorful then what I've seen here, but there's a lot more neutral tones still. A lot of magical creatures have a limited range of color even if they're brighter, but most of the top species have a limited change. A few can start to match ponies, but we have the most.

Magic affects the world around it. Since ponies have the most magic stored in our bodies naturally, we end up with a wider range of colors and if you do enough magic, sparkles start to show up. We're also the only species that have the ability to create pigment to do things like make rainbows.

[And now candy.] And now I need to do another pumpkin. [Time to make another horrorshow of a pumpkin.]
