Who: All the lovely Heroes!
When: Day 44, morning
Where: Around the train

[ It may have been only a few days, but did that heatwave feel like it lasted forever to anyone else? No? Either way, it's gone now. Bringing with it a blessed coolness. Actually wait, it's cold-- too cold! Worse yet, not even going into the train seems to really help. Fortunately, someone seems to have been kind enough to leave some nice, fuzzy blankets lying around. Too bad it doesn't seem to help much unless you share them with someone...

Either way, you're in luck because you've got some new teammates on the train! The notification appears cheerfully on everyone's Chains:

[ Winds around Eliza's legs, cat-like. ]

Why thank you! I like you too. My name's Eliza.

Eliza. Elllliza. Eliza! [ cheep chirp ]

Cute! Like the date line?

[ tilts her head ]

Probably. Maybe. I think so? [ The end of her tail wags, the longer, floofier feathers dragging across the floor. ] I like it a lot, it's pretty.

It is pretty! And it matches the team theme.

[ Rustles her wings some, preening happily. ]

Very important, to match. Does "Eliza" match your team theme?

Eliza was the name I already remembered having, so I didn’t get one to match. But I did name a lot of my teammates! Our theme is sabertooth tigers and cats.

Ah! Remembered? So you didn't forget?

What's your world like?

Yep! I remember everything. And I think my world's great, but I don't know if you'd like it... Our dragons are pretty different there!

[ Dragons-! Squeaks, bouncing another circle around her. ]

Tell me, tell me about them!

Oh gosh, I can tell you so much about them. It's even my job to study their fossils, actually! But the very biggest difference between them and you is that our dragons don't talk.

I don't think I always knew talking. Dusk had to read to me for hours and hours and hours so I could get it right.

[ she's practically sparkling tbh ]

[ this is so exciting ]

What do yours sound like? What do they look like? Are they magic? You are, I can feel it.

They're all magic! But they come in all kinds of shapes and sizes— there's flowerdrakes that look and act like parrots, there's fishers and sea serpents that live in the water, there's the coastal dragons which were simply massive, and of course there's the dragonwolves! Almost every region has or had its own great species of dragons.

[claps her hands together]

If you want, I can introduce you to three of them. But they're very old and very magic, so they're living as skeletons. But they're very sweet! Not scary at all.

I want! I want!

[ The end of her tail wags faster, and she's kind of bouncing and quivering in place. Her ears are pricked straight up. ]

I want to meet your dragons and see their magic, and yours.

Then let's go! They're right at Thyme, that's just down the hall. We're the cabin with a doggie door.

[ yessssss ]

[ bounds away to Thyme's door, chirping in sing-song the whole way. ]

[opens the door to let her in, calling into the cabincar]

Isildur! Isolde! Wake up, you have a guest!

[distantly, the great SCRABBLING CLATTER of excited claws scrambling to their feet]

[ !!! ]

[ DASHES OFF THATTAWAY ]

[those SURE ARE SKELETONS tumbling out of a room. they're both pretty big, somewhere around the size of a large bear, and built for running-- their wings would have been too small to ever fly with, but they're fanning their bones excitedly in greeting and ducking their big spiky heads to SNIFF]

[ They may be skeletons but they're still shaped like FRIENDS ]

[ Stretches her snout up to bump noses and sniff, trilling and chirping in excitement, HI FRIENDS HELLO FRIENDS ]

The one on the left is Isildur, and the other is Isolde. They're dragonwolves!

[they can't make much noise, being bones and all, but there is MUCH snuffling and clattering before Isildur goes very still
