EVENT: BLANKET FIC

[ It may have been only a few days, but did that heatwave feel like it lasted forever to anyone else? No? Either way, it's gone now. Bringing with it a blessed coolness. Actually wait, it's cold-- too cold! Worse yet, not even going into the train seems to really help. Fortunately, someone seems to have been kind enough to leave some nice, fuzzy blankets lying around. Too bad it doesn't seem to help much unless you share them with someone...

Either way, you're in luck because you've got some new teammates on the train! The notification appears cheerfully on everyone's Chains:

[ There is a new teammate in the common area of the carriage, a slender man in his mid-30s with a mess of thigh-length black hair. He's wearing a hodge-podge of uniform: pajama pants, unlaced boots, the sweater and furry coat. He's studying everything very carefully -- though he puts on a pleasant smile as soon as he spots someone. ]

Good morning.

B. Elsewhere on the train

[ After some teammates have presumably helped him put his clothes and hair in better order, he's heading out of Ginger's carriage to explore the common cars of the train.

The blankets are a very welcome sight, but with only one hand, he's having some trouble wrapping one around himself... ]

Oh! Gosh! Hi, you're new, aren't you?

[ it's more like chest length in the front, but the bulk of it sweeps down to about the tops of his thighs behind. long and glossy and black. ]

[this is... not a teammate! this man is in blue? (though he is at least wearing a ginger scarf.) wandering out of a bedroom bundled in a blanket and yawning, blinking blearily at the new arrival.]

[ awkward...but the pleasant smile doesn't waver. ]

I just woke up, so I'm afraid I don't know my way around just yet... Is there somewhere where I may greet our gracious hosts?

If you mean the other guys that live here, there are a couple in there. [jerking his thumb at the room he just left]

But they may need a bit more time to wake up, so you miiight wanna look for Emet-Selch. He's probably around here somewhere. Or Faito.

If you mean our hosts as in the whole train, they're a bit harder to pin down.

[ returns the bow with a little one of her own, smiling bright. ]

Please, call me Faito. I'm one of your new teammates. Do you remember your name-?

[ Don't feel awkward around the guy with giant black wings and fangs. He's cool. Anyway, he's doing best to properly drape the blankets over JGY and tie off the end of one so he won't need to hold it up ]

I am the newest besides yourself so there is little I can provide that the others have not. Enjoy your title as 'hero'. Perhaps you were one before, as I can only assume your memories are out of reach.

[here is a young lady in a thin-strapped sundress that comes to her knees. in spite of the cold, she does not appear to be any worse for it.

she is crocheting something in the lounge when she looks up and spots the very handsome, struggling man.]

Do you require assistance, sir?

[ahhhh all that hair, hers has been growing, but she must admit she is quite envious. what a classical look.]

[she sets aside her work and comes over to help placing the blanket on his shoulders and moving around to his front to wrap it around him. She gets a second one, just in case? She doesn't know how you normies deal with the cold.]
