The sound of a giggle fills the air and leaves behind bubbles-- touching one will give the uncontrollable urge to hug the nearest person. They will persist throughout the night. ]

We are special ops. It's kind of inherent there's some moral gray areas. Do the bad things for a greater good.

At least that's the idea.

Yeah, but does special ops usually go after each other?

It can depend on the group and the work, there's some groups that would call for extreme secrecy because that information getting out would cause major societal problems. But that's usually for ones that are more politically focused.

That shouldn't be ours. We're primarily military acting for the UNSC. Dealing with alien threats that want our extinction and the Insurrection, people trying to get control for the Outer Colonies, while the Covenant has the UNSC's primary forces.

Neither of which should promote that level of being cutthroat. The worst that happens is the public finds out what we're doing, and won't be happy, but that's jail time at worse.

Could just be a case of corruption within your ranks. They seem to have a real problem with Texas.

It was when we met her. But she had also been given jobs before. She'd be on missions without being on the roster, doing clean up to cover our tracks.

But Texas...she saved York. She helped Carolina when the Director was going to let her suffer....whatever was messing with the AI.

She might be a hardass, but she shows enough care to be a good teammate. She's trusted to do clean up and do it alone. She got a reserved name. She should be trusted if she's allowed that much independence. So why pull live ammo?

Yeah, she seems like a really intense but overall cool person. But people can get really touchy about people who seem like they have a lot of power but don't tolerate being controlled.

Controlled?

You know, made to fall in line. Authorities don't like the powerful wild cards. They're dangerous.

I guess, but I'd almost think that's kind of the point with our group.

Like, we're special ops. We're supposed to do things most other people can't. York's an infiltration specialist, Maine's a beast, Carolina has good adaption and leader ability, North and South have different skills great for clearing a room, I'm just really damn hard to keep down.

Quality over quantity. Even if personality isn't the best, skills are worth it.
