No, they are not. Hats are rather optional, depending on the culture, but there is nothing shameful about showing one's head, typically. I wear this to keep the sun away.

If you would like to wear dresses. You could wear a shirt and pants or shorts, or any number of things, but the chest and the crotch area must be covered, yes.

Human shoes look really restrictive.

[She holds the hat back out.] Maybe we should just do something else.

Barring a special talent, control of an element takes years to really master.

Which is impressive. Mastering something is hard, anyone with the dedication, intelligence, and ability to do it is someone to be impressed by.
