EVENT: ~*~Heat Wave~*~

Who: Heroes! Old ones, new ones...!
When: Day 42, afternoon
Where: Around the train

[ Good news, everyone! Those pesky cicadas are gone at last! You might have even had a chance to relax, except....

Except for the heat wave.

It's like the worst parts of the last dregs of summer come to torture you with excrutiating heat. It's heat so bad you could swear that you've started melting yourself the second you step outside. It's terrible. At least with the cold you can add more layers on, how are you supposed to deal with heat?? You can't just walk around naked??

(That's not a suggestion.)

Here's the thing about the heat, though: It's bad enough that it's causing mirages-- mirages of people you may even recognize, people who are lost in the dark. People who will try to lead you into danger, people who don't want what's best for you after all....

That aside, you may or may not have noticed that there's some new teammates on the train! The notification appears cheerfully on everyone's Chains:
WELCOME NEW HEROES

And you may find yourself wearing a label you can't seem to remove until you've spoken to at least one other person: "Hi, I'm ______! Talk to me about ______!"

There's a mischievous giggle in the wind that you may recognize as the same one that ran the plants and secrets game. ]

[[ NOTES: You're welcome to make team posts if you like, or intro directly into this mingle if you haven't already. Until next month's placements, the heat wave will persist. Characters stand the risk of seeing castmates not in the game until that point, mirages from the heat. Enjoy! ]]

We gave swimming lessons.
schrodingerscockroach: (Will let a man fight gravity)

[personal profile] schrodingerscockroach 2019-10-02 12:21 am (UTC)(link)
Know anything about sandcastles?
schrodingerscockroach: (If you say so)

[personal profile] schrodingerscockroach 2019-10-02 12:37 am (UTC)(link)
Could do that.

Plus if this heat persists, more time by the water.

Is that really the kind of thing that has to be taught though? Last time I did a sandcastle I just dug a huge moat.
schrodingerscockroach: (Well we could)

[personal profile] schrodingerscockroach 2019-10-02 12:47 am (UTC)(link)
Depends how many people have been to a beach before here.
bowtiedbones: (54)

[personal profile] bowtiedbones 2019-10-02 12:54 am (UTC)(link)
Maybe! But if most people have, that would be more of a Senna activity.
schrodingerscockroach: (If you say so)

[personal profile] schrodingerscockroach 2019-10-02 01:03 am (UTC)(link)
Fair, fair. [Considering other ideas.]

I've worked part-time at my brother's gym before so I thought about helping out in the one here, but a lot of you are already enhanced... Nobody's answered my sign about yoga lessons.
schrodingerscockroach: (Too many cats to hold)

[personal profile] schrodingerscockroach 2019-10-02 01:16 am (UTC)(link)
Which is a shame because people could probably do with the stress management.

[Actually...]

I could join you, if you want. I know stretching, but not much on yoga.
bowtiedbones: (22)

[personal profile] bowtiedbones 2019-10-02 01:47 am (UTC)(link)
I could teach you, sure. There's a lot more to it than just stretching.
schrodingerscockroach: (If you say so)

[personal profile] schrodingerscockroach 2019-10-02 01:50 am (UTC)(link)
Like what? All I know is stretching and supposed to be relaxing.

[personal profile] bowtiedbones 2019-10-02 01:56 am (UTC)(link)
How do you feel about squats?
schrodingerscockroach: (Twisty straws)

[personal profile] schrodingerscockroach 2019-10-02 02:02 am (UTC)(link)
They're almost as easy as sitting?

[Almost like there's a button for it.]
schrodingerscockroach: (Well we could)

[personal profile] schrodingerscockroach 2019-10-02 02:05 am (UTC)(link)
I'm a space marine. I do at least a hundred a day.
bowtiedbones: (43)

[personal profile] bowtiedbones 2019-10-02 02:09 am (UTC)(link)
Uh... How's your balance?
schrodingerscockroach: (Its kind of sweet)

[personal profile] schrodingerscockroach 2019-10-02 02:11 am (UTC)(link)
Pretty good, I think? I can stand on one leg a while?
bowtiedbones: (23)

[personal profile] bowtiedbones 2019-10-02 02:19 am (UTC)(link)
Besides stretching, yoga can be good for balance and gentle strength-training. If squats are too easy for you, some poses aren't really going to do you any physical good besides being relaxing... We can add weights and repetitions, but mostly just your own body is what you're working with. I'm trying to figure out what routines would work best for you within the area of what I can actually teach.
schrodingerscockroach: (Sigh)

[personal profile] schrodingerscockroach 2019-10-07 06:31 am (UTC)(link)
Eh, the relaxing is still pretty good. I can be pretty high strung.
bowtiedbones: (54)

[personal profile] bowtiedbones 2019-10-07 07:18 pm (UTC)(link)
Alright. I usually do fitness yoga when I'm called in, but we can try a session and see if it works for you.
schrodingerscockroach: (If you say so)

[personal profile] schrodingerscockroach 2019-10-08 05:04 am (UTC)(link)
Doesn't hurt. And we might figure out something it does help.
bowtiedbones: (22)

[personal profile] bowtiedbones 2019-10-08 05:16 pm (UTC)(link)
And it's sparks either way.
schrodingerscockroach: (That's adorable)

[personal profile] schrodingerscockroach 2019-10-20 05:12 am (UTC)(link)
Exactly. Benefits all around.
