EVENT: ~*~Heat Wave~*~

Who: Heroes! Old ones, new ones...!
When: Day 42, afternoon
Where: Around the train

[ Good news, everyone! Those pesky cicadas are gone at last! You might have even had a chance to relax, except....

Except for the heat wave.

It's like the worst parts of the last dregs of summer come to torture you with excrutiating heat. It's heat so bad you could swear that you've started melting yourself the second you step outside. It's terrible. At least with the cold you can add more layers on, how are you supposed to deal with heat?? You can't just walk around naked??

(That's not a suggestion.)

Here's the thing about the heat, though: It's bad enough that it's causing mirages-- mirages of people you may even recognize, people who are lost in the dark. People who will try to lead you into danger, people who don't want what's best for you after all....

That aside, you may or may not have noticed that there's some new teammates on the train! The notification appears cheerfully on everyone's Chains:
WELCOME NEW HEROES

And you may find yourself wearing a label you can't seem to remove until you've spoken to at least one other person: "Hi, I'm ______! Talk to me about ______!"

There's a mischievous giggle in the wind that you may recognize as the same one that ran the plants and secrets game. ]

[[ NOTES: You're welcome to make team posts if you like, or intro directly into this mingle if you haven't already. Until next month's placements, the heat wave will persist. Characters stand the risk of seeing castmates not in the game until that point, mirages from the heat. Enjoy! ]]

I like being around you AND you're currently a cold spot. Seems unlikely.

Especially after cleaning glitter all morning after dealing with an irate newbie.

[she doesn't understand the first part so how about we just don't address it.]

I mean you might end up in a pod, one day.
schrodingerscockroach: (this is really stupid)

[personal profile] schrodingerscockroach 2019-09-23 04:40 am (UTC)(link)
You do realize that's part of why I try to do this bonding thing so hard, right?

If I'm gonna die or cease existing or whatever, I'm going to make it a bitch for fate to make that happen.

[She does not see the point.]

No, I do not realise, but as you like.
schrodingerscockroach: (A lil tired)

[He is a cockroach man.]

And if I lived life going 'I could die tomorrow,' and let that be a blockade instead of a motivator, I'd get a lot less done.

I have a contract. I have a kid who I don't remember, but I know we know each other. I've got friends and I've got teammates who rely on me. I got a cat.

Better to keep going forward like I'm always going to be there so I will be there when i need to be.

I suppose. As you will, then.
schrodingerscockroach: (Well we could)

[personal profile] schrodingerscockroach 2019-09-23 05:31 am (UTC)(link)
Why are you worried about me disappearing into the pods?
voreaciously: (5)

[personal profile] voreaciously 2019-09-23 05:44 am (UTC)(link)
I am not. I am worried about your cat.
schrodingerscockroach: (Its kind of sweet)

[personal profile] schrodingerscockroach 2019-09-24 06:17 am (UTC)(link)
I'm not even sure if Sunset would understand pods.

I'm still not sure what being born on the train might do for her understanding of things like that.

[personal profile] voreaciously 2019-09-24 06:20 am (UTC)(link)
You know for a fact she was born on it?
schrodingerscockroach: (...what)

[personal profile] schrodingerscockroach 2019-09-24 06:21 am (UTC)(link)
That is the question I've been pondering.

I don't remember a cat. And she's a young one.

So where DID she come from? I ordered her from the Spark shop, but where did they get her?

I suppose you could ask the next time we've an audience with someone of import.
schrodingerscockroach: (Calm instruction)

[personal profile] schrodingerscockroach 2019-09-24 06:30 am (UTC)(link)
Maybe. Depends what needs asking at the time.

And if they seem truthful.

I do not see the use in lying about such a matter, personally, but who can say.
schrodingerscockroach: (Sass in armor)

[personal profile] schrodingerscockroach 2019-09-24 10:49 pm (UTC)(link)
Considering they were apparently hiding information at first, not exactly the best judges in that regard.
voreaciously: (83)

[personal profile] voreaciously 2019-09-24 10:53 pm (UTC)(link)
That information was pertinent. It does not foster trust to keep it hidden, no, but it was important information. Where your cat comes from is ostensibly less so.
schrodingerscockroach: (Well we could)

[personal profile] schrodingerscockroach 2019-09-24 10:55 pm (UTC)(link)
It would go into how they make things and that could be.
