[This evening, out of nowhere, Hazel's carriage disappears. There's a shower of sparkles, a bright light, and after that... it's gone. Anyone who was in its hallway is now in the Garden entrance. The Garden car itself is now hooked to Clover's carriage, as if it had aways been and Hazel was never real. Clover itself is currently bare as well -- the lock screen is dull, completely turned off, and there are no lights inside. No one is there, now, but at least the space remains.

In some carriages, that loss of vibrancy is countered by the appearance of some new heroes. In general, the gloomy mood throughout the train is only heightened by the onset of a heavy storm. Outside there's a crack of thunder that rattles the train, and it begins to pour so hard the edge of the clearing is barely visible through the windows.

The rain, the thunder, and the strobe-light effect of constant lightning will continue til dawn.]

[It's mainly odd that so many people knew him as a human. But. Well, he doesn't mind.]

So tell me a bit about yourself.

Well.... to start with, I'm a big fan of games, especially when there's stakes involved. Card games, darts, pool... all of it's fair game. I'm also pretty good at fighting. There's a lot I'm still piecing together, but I know we went to the same school at one point-- I was your upperclassman.

I see.

[He offers his hand!]

Then from now on, I'll be in your care again, Crow.

[ He takes the hand, shaking it with an easy grin. ]

You're in good hands. Just let me know if you need anything, okay?

I wouldn't say no to a tour.

I can definitely do that. C'mon, follow me.

[ He starts heading to one of the other train cabins, motioning for Rean to follow. ]

[He follows! Looking around with interest!]

[ He shows off each team cabin first and he's got something to say about at least one person in each one-- Senna has Naeva, she's a brat but can be fun sometimes (don't tell her he said that). Thyme has Eliza, she's one of those people you can't help but like. Jasmine has 80H, she's a lot of fun to hang around and really clever. Licorice has him of course and you know Ginger already.

He falters for only the briefest of moments when he sees Clover and realizes--

"There's nobody there," he says brusquely. ]

[He listens with quiet attention, making a note of every name Crow mentions. When they get to Clover it's not like he misses the pauses or that it's not too happy?]

Was there someone there?

There was but it looks like he's gone now. It happens sometimes, but I'm not really sure where they go.

[ Probably nowhere good, he doesn't say. ]

A friend of yours?

[He's just, gently probing.]

Yours too. You should ask Rufus more about him, though. We weren't that close.

...Okay.

[Maybe he'll leave this alone for now.]

The goal here is to form bonds with others, right?

[ Oh good, that means he can ignore that feeling he's having. ]

Someone's given you the rundown, huh? Yeah, that's the basic idea.

So if someone disappears who you've formed a bond with, that's got to be hard. They really haven't given us an easy task in a sense.

Well, no one ever said saving the universe was gonna be easy.

No. But we do what we have to, right? Besides, I don't think it's a bad condition. I'd want to get to know the people I'm saving the universe with regardless.

You're really taking this seriously, huh? Just don't forget to have fun with it too.

Of course I'm taking it seriously. Aren't you? And I can have fun just fine.

Seriously enough! I don't want the universe to end either, I live in it.
