[This evening, out of nowhere, Hazel's carriage disappears. There's a shower of sparkles, a bright light, and after that... it's gone. Anyone who was in its hallway is now in the Garden entrance. The Garden car itself is now hooked to Clover's carriage, as if it had aways been and Hazel was never real. Clover itself is currently bare as well -- the lock screen is dull, completely turned off, and there are no lights inside. No one is there, now, but at least the space remains.

In some carriages, that loss of vibrancy is countered by the appearance of some new heroes. In general, the gloomy mood throughout the train is only heightened by the onset of a heavy storm. Outside there's a crack of thunder that rattles the train, and it begins to pour so hard the edge of the clearing is barely visible through the windows.

The rain, the thunder, and the strobe-light effect of constant lightning will continue til dawn.]

So I've told you about me, want to tell me about you? What is it you want power for?

[ He.... doesn't have it in him right now to be open enough to tell the entirety of his reasoning why. There's too much to lay vulnerable and bare and it's hard for him to trust at the best of times-- and right after losing the one person he'd chosen to spend an honest moment with is not the best of times.

But all the same, he doesn't want to lie to Rean. He's been very honest this whole time, and it's a pretty damned important question for a guy who'd be sharing that power with him if they contracted. ]

There's.... several reasons why. One of the biggest ones... I know I don't remember even half of what I'm capable of in a fight right now-- I barely have a clue what I'm even missing. It's... frustrating, knowing that I'm so much weaker than I could be-- than I want to be. I'm not incapable in a fight, not by a long stretch-- but I'm not where I should be.

Mm. That's pretty understandable. Being frustrated. Even I'm not at my peak right now.

But what would you want to achieve, if you could reach the power you think you have?

...I know we need "bonds" to fight against this... thing destroying the universe. But you know what else uses "bonds"? ARCUS units. Combat links. The closer we are, the easier it is to fight together. ...I believe that one day, it'll come down to a fight. How well we can all fight together. I want to be strong enough that I have no regrets when that time comes.

Mm. Yeah. I can understand that.

I also don't want to let anyone here down, now that I'm here. Including myself, of course.

I would hope that includes yourself. That's the most important person of all to keep from disappointing.

I don't. I think if you do what's right to you, everything else will fall into place.

[ He explains the pods and how they work-- they can heal any injury and even bring back the dead, but they need sparks to run. The worse the injury, the more sparks are needed. ]

That's handy at least. Do people get injured a lot?

Not a lot, but it's not unheard of. If you're low on sparks, you can also see if 80H is up for healing. She's got some handy water magic she can use... although I'm not sure what her upper limits are.

Ah... thanks for the tip. I... heal on my own pretty well, when I have enough mana.

That sounds pretty handy. Is that why you need a contractor?
