Who: Everyone
When: Day 13, afternoon
Where: Public Lounge

[ Guess who's trying to earn as many Sparks as possible? This guy. So on Day 13, sometime during the day each Team may have received a quick visit from this guy, encouraging them to come to the public lounge during the afternoon to partecipate on a get to know each other exercise. For anyone who asks, he'll explain on very generic terms that it's just a game of truth or dare or kiss, and he's going to try his best to convince people to actually show up.

For those who do show up at the public lounge in the afternoon, he's going to explain the basic set up ]

All right, so, the whole thing is pretty simple. Usually, I guess there should be something to spin or help with randomly selecting people, but that's going to get complicated, so let's skip that one. You see someone you want to get to know, you partner up with 'em.

Here's the rules. You ask your partner to pick Truth or Dare, and ask or provide your challenge accordingly. As the person who's been asked or challenged, you will have the option to back out of it by kissing your partner instead. Doesn't have to be anywhere specific, there's kids here.

You won't win anything out of it except, huh, my gratitude for taking part, I guess.

Oh, geez. ...at least he's here with you?
desirestruth: (Of all the mythical stories)

[personal profile] desirestruth 2019-02-24 04:25 am (UTC)(link)
There...is that, yes.

[She sighs a little bit.]

It's your turn to pick, Miss.

I'll do Truth again.
desirestruth: (Ran away on it's own)

[personal profile] desirestruth 2019-02-24 04:29 am (UTC)(link)
[She's considering this.]

What was your life like, before coming here? If you remember that much.

[personal profile] bowtiedbones 2019-02-24 04:38 am (UTC)(link)
I only lost powers, so I remember almost everything. Um, it's mostly a lot time spent doing research, studying, or prepping for summonings... It's been a lot of that pretty much nonstop for twenty years. I'm a necromancer, and right now I'm doing my postgrad in paleobiology.

Paleobiology...[She's sounding out the roots of the words. And she looks fascinated.]

The study of dead life? I suppose that would pair well with necromancy...

[personal profile] bowtiedbones 2019-02-24 04:48 am (UTC)(link)
[perking up immediately, yes let me talk about my passion career]

Oh it pairs so well! There's a lot of fields you can really group what I do under, like I do work with fossils and subfossils so classic paleontology isn't wrong, but I like "necrozoologist" best— I study extinct species by animating their skeletons!
desirestruth: (I wonder which one is better)

[personal profile] desirestruth 2019-02-24 04:56 am (UTC)(link)
Now there's an idea. I wonder if I could bully my brother into doing it...
bowtiedbones: (53)

[personal profile] bowtiedbones 2019-02-24 05:08 am (UTC)(link)
Is he a necromancer? I do have to advise that he be really careful if he's not experienced with ancient dead. The age of the skeleton really does make a difference to the summoning.
desirestruth: (I wonder which one is better)

[personal profile] desirestruth 2019-02-24 05:15 am (UTC)(link)
He'll be alright. We probably both count as ancient dead, really...

[...wait, what.]

[personal profile] bowtiedbones 2019-02-24 05:25 am (UTC)(link)
[holds up a finger like wait, wait let her figure what part of that to process]

How many years is ancient for you?
desirestruth: (Ran away on it's own)

[personal profile] desirestruth 2019-02-24 05:29 am (UTC)(link)
Well, we're only really about 100-ish, so I guess it's not that old in the grand scheme of things?

But we died right after we were born, so...

[personal profile] bowtiedbones 2019-02-24 05:40 am (UTC)(link)
That might be too near modern to have an effect... My oldest familiars are something around 10,000 years old. But we don't have, um— sorry, I don't know what the operative term would be... All of my world's humans stay dead-dead, there's definitely nobody deceased that's a practicing necromancer at home, so I don't know how that would calculate into the summoning. But your system's probably different anyways? Maybe he could work the summons on-standard.

[she's gone with processing from the analytical end, apparently]
desirestruth: (Of hatred and scarcity)

[personal profile] desirestruth 2019-02-24 06:09 am (UTC)(link)
I wouldn't know. I can't do it at all--my own witchcraft is incompatible with the magic behind necromancy.
bowtiedbones: (27)

[personal profile] bowtiedbones 2019-02-24 06:17 am (UTC)(link)
Oh! Then that's something different between systems. I'm best at necromancy, but I could do any of kind of magic at home if I bothered to learn it. For a while when I was a kid I wanted to be a beastmaster instead, and I still do a little of it.
desirestruth: (I eventually got tired)

[personal profile] desirestruth 2019-02-24 06:56 am (UTC)(link)
Magecraft and witchcraft are inherently different anyway. Necromancy's pretty rare--dead things prefer to stay sedentary, for the most part, as I understand it.

But, witches are passed through the blood. That's why my hair and eye are this color.

[personal profile] bowtiedbones 2019-02-25 12:52 am (UTC)(link)
What's the difference between the crafts? Just the hereditary factor?
desirestruth: (Ran away on it's own)

[personal profile] desirestruth 2019-02-25 01:11 am (UTC)(link)
Magecraft uses a person's own internal mana to create effects. It's not uncommon for untrained mages to accidentally hurt or even kill themselves if they aren't educated in control at a young age.

Witches like me use ambient magic in the world around us to control an aspect of reality. It's very rare, and the cursed emperor killed as many as he could...

[personal profile] bowtiedbones 2019-02-25 01:15 am (UTC)(link)
Well that's a jerk thing to do!
desirestruth: (Ran away on it's own)

He was not a very nice man.
bowtiedbones: (75)

[personal profile] bowtiedbones 2019-02-25 05:37 am (UTC)(link)
Worse than calculated serial murder...!?
desirestruth: (This would have been easier)

[personal profile] desirestruth 2019-02-25 06:03 am (UTC)(link)
Genocidal cursed war carried on for generations. Also we think he might be an immortal shambling abomination now? I'm not sure.

Geez... That is terrible. I'm sorry.
