[It's morning, though you might not know it from the darkness that remains outside. But there is an annoouncement on your Chain to brighten up the day regardless:]

WELCOME NEW HEROES

[This round's newbies are waking up in their rooms, in the usual nondescript undies or team pyjamas. They'll get their basic welcome message and a prompt to view the IC Guide.

As you go out to greet them, you might find that the entire train has been decorated! By whom is not readily apparent, but there's streamers and heart-shaped balloons adorning all the hallways and many of the additional cars besides which. It's festive!

You know what else is festive? The candy hearts sitting in bowls around the place. They all have generic, cute messages on them like "I ♥ You," "Be Mine," "Text Me," "Forever," etc. Try one out! Though you might find they carry some effects when you try one out....

♥ Pink Hearts These hearts will cause an empathetic bond! For the next few minutes/hours/rest of the thread, you'll find yourself connected with the nearest person in arguably the most intimate of ways....

♡ White Hearts You just can't help it after you chomp down on one of these hearts-- you've got a song on your lips bursting to come out! You may even feel up for dancing. Go forth and be your best, most musical sellf!

♥ Green Hearts You know what that person you're talking to RIGHT NOW needs? A hug!!! At least, that's the urge you'll get the moment you pop a green heart into your mouth. Although handholding also seems to get rid of the compulsion, so hey, there's options!

♡ Blue Hearts The very next thing you say after you eat one of these bad boys comes out in poem form! It doesn't have to be good poetry, mind you. Limericks, haikus, anything goes! At least it's mercifully brief?

And so it goes. Enjoy your icebreaker and make that fresh meat feel welcome!]

[Loki's interest is piqued by the announcement of new arrivals, and he's out to size them up for himself. And take in the decorations with some amusement.]

And what is the meaning of this? Some mortal tradition?

[He idly rifles through the candies in a bowl.]

Foodstuffs with writing... what will you think of next.

[He picks out a green one and eats it, chews for a second before rolling his eyes.]

Not the best humanity has ever created.

Though yeah, these candies were never the best. I think it was just the easiest to write messages on without them melting?

Could- ["all this be for you?" is what he would say if he didn't suddenly give her a hug before he could get more than one word out. He quickly lets go and backs away, staring at his arms with a confused almost horrified look.]

[He gets an adorable SQUEAK for his efforts, because that's a surprise.]

.....ah. Sudden urge to hug?

Indeed. What is with this place, its obsession with physical affection?! [He clenches his fists and makes a move to knock over the nearest bowl until he gets control of himself.]

Well, there is a chemical reaction when two people touch so it's probably going for Path Lock's affect. You associate someone with the happy chemicals that come with touch so you're happier when you see them and thus it makes the emotional bond easier to achieve.

And what of the association when the contact is coerced and forced? I very much doubt that would make a positive emotional bond any more likely.

Prince hasn't proven the most thoughtful when it comes to nuance.

I do know the type. Though I doubt this Prince will learn nuance and consideration as easily as Thor. [But having his stripped of power and stranded on Midgard does sound satisfying to watch...]

I'm working on it. I just need to get him to talk to me sometimes through the Chain. Maybe teach him more about how complex emotional range is.

[He sighs.] I would offer my assistance as the Silvertongue, but I have failed at convincing others where complex emotions are concerned.

Honestly, I'm not sure what I'd do with back up of that kind. Emotional manipulations and understandings is a long game, we'd have to be totally in sync to do it effectively.
