EVENT: Upgrade!

Who: Everyone
When: Day 57, morning
Where: The train!

[ There is a new car attached to the back of the train. You'll have to get past the garden, the gym, and the library to get to... the arcade.

Near the entrance is where you'll find the conveniently-placed machines to get tokens to play any of the arcade games. It seems to be a formality because it doesn't actually cost you any sparks to play the games, but be sure to swing by there before you hit up the games. And what an array there are! Overall, there's two floors filled with various types of games.

There's the crane games, filled with various cute plush versions of monsters you may have faced before (both during your stay on the Aurora and back home) as well as, more rarely-- is that a plush of yourself? Or one of your teammates perhaps, someone you care about on the train. It might be worth trying to pick one up!

Next of course are the video games and there's an array for all kinds of interests-- Rhythm games of all types, fighting games, shooting games, racing games... There's no shortage of different types you can play. Try one out, you might like it!

There's also a variety of purikura photo booths if you and/or a friend would like to try your hand at getting a cute set of sticker photos.

You've got some time to relax for the moment, so why not try it out at the arcade? ]

Well then, are you going to do something?

[personal profile] voreaciously 2020-01-31 03:51 am (UTC)(link)
[she could lie but it would be pretty pointless ultimately]

Perhaps.

[NOT A LIE!!]

[personal profile] schrodingerscockroach 2020-01-31 03:52 am (UTC)(link)
Well, if you decide to do it, I'm up to help with science.

[personal profile] voreaciously 2020-01-31 03:55 am (UTC)(link)
It would be rather boring, really. Rote and standard physical tests.
schrodingerscockroach: (Jiiiiii)

[personal profile] schrodingerscockroach 2020-01-31 03:58 am (UTC)(link)
...you do realize rote and standard happens a lot in military, right? Sometimes recon just involves sitting in a place for hours, watching. At least this would involve like. Writing things.

I do realise, actually, but that does not mean you should subject yourself to it if you do not wish to. I am not your commanding officer.
schrodingerscockroach: (Well we could)

[personal profile] schrodingerscockroach 2020-01-31 04:08 am (UTC)(link)
I know. Still offering. It could be interesting, and at worst, it's more information about where we are which is always valuable.
voreaciously: (5)

[personal profile] voreaciously 2020-01-31 05:28 am (UTC)(link)
...Why are you?

[offering, that is.]
schrodingerscockroach: (Tired)

[personal profile] schrodingerscockroach 2020-01-31 05:39 am (UTC)(link)
Well, like I said, information about where we are is valuable. What things are dangerous, what things help, maybe figure out something how Malice operates. Information is always important.

I do like math and science in general. Just because I'm a combat orientated person doesn't mean I don't like nerd stuff.

[He pauses a moment.]

And every time I see you do work, it's usually pretty cool. You're really smart and you have a lot of skills that you cross over that's just cool to see so it's probably more entertaining than you think.

The former half of your logic is sound. The latter half leaves something to be desired.

[Shrugs.] Magic is cool. Maybe more exposure will get rid of the veneer, but hasn't yet.

[personal profile] voreaciously 2020-01-31 05:54 am (UTC)(link)
...It does not ever truly go away.

[magic is fucking amazing.]
schrodingerscockroach: (Daw he's learning)

[personal profile] schrodingerscockroach 2020-01-31 05:55 am (UTC)(link)
Does seem unlikely since I apparently have magic, but I'm still impressed. And you do pretty amazing work just in concept of control and aesthetic.
voreaciously: (52)

[personal profile] voreaciously 2020-01-31 06:03 am (UTC)(link)
I have not done anything amazing.
schrodingerscockroach: (Will let a man fight gravity)

[personal profile] schrodingerscockroach 2020-01-31 06:07 am (UTC)(link)
You definitely have, though it may be less for someone with extensive experience with magic. But I'd eat my hoody if some stuff wasn't.
voreaciously: (83)

[personal profile] voreaciously 2020-01-31 06:10 am (UTC)(link)
That is correct, I have not done anything especially impressive by common metric.

[this is bullshit but she barely knows that tbh. her metrics are fucked.]
schrodingerscockroach: (Sass in armor)

[personal profile] schrodingerscockroach 2020-01-31 06:21 am (UTC)(link)
So in theory any magic user on the train should match you?
voreaciously: (7)

[personal profile] voreaciously 2020-01-31 06:24 am (UTC)(link)
That is not the same thing. Though, I could not say regardless.
schrodingerscockroach: (Sass in armor)

[personal profile] schrodingerscockroach 2020-02-01 03:33 am (UTC)(link)
Why isn't it the same thing?
voreaciously: (5)

[personal profile] voreaciously 2020-02-01 03:42 am (UTC)(link)
"Not impressive" is not synonymous with equal.
schrodingerscockroach: (Twisty straws)

[personal profile] schrodingerscockroach 2020-02-20 12:38 am (UTC)(link)
Rarer things are more likely to be impressive.
