EVENT: Upgrade!

Where: The train!

[ There is a new car attached to the back of the train. You'll have to get past the garden, the gym, and the library to get to... the arcade.

Near the entrance is where you'll find the conveniently-placed machines to get tokens to play any of the arcade games. It seems to be a formality because it doesn't actually cost you any sparks to play the games, but be sure to swing by there before you hit up the games. And what an array there are! Overall, there's two floors filled with various types of games.

There's the crane games, filled with various cute plush versions of monsters you may have faced before (both during your stay on the Aurora and back home) as well as, more rarely-- is that a plush of yourself? Or one of your teammates perhaps, someone you care about on the train. It might be worth trying to pick one up!

Next of course are the video games and there's an array for all kinds of interests-- Rhythm games of all types, fighting games, shooting games, racing games... There's no shortage of different types you can play. Try one out, you might like it!

There's also a variety of purikura photo booths if you and/or a friend would like to try your hand at getting a cute set of sticker photos.

You've got some time to relax for the moment, so why not try it out at the arcade? ]

Well let's see-- there were the explorations we did on Origin Star prior to traveling to this world. Those were... pretty crazy. Once we got here there were some issues with some gingerbread men while they set up the protection systems. And the result of our work was the new arcade we got.

[She tries to keep the summary nice and neat.]

...oh! And we welcomed some new people as well.

I'm honestly not sure what to ask about first.

Eheh... I can't blame you. It's a lot to take in all at once. But there's really no need to push yourself and rush it.

[awakenerd]

[Oh. He smiles and ruffles her hair gently.]

Thanks, Towa. I'm pretty well rested though. But I'll take it one at a time. How about we start with this; have you been okay? It sounds like a lot.

[Oh. Towa smiles sheepishly. She can truly say that she missed that feeling.]

The worst of it was the explorations we took part in, although I was only there for the second part of it. Most of our team got trapped inside of this... mirror world. We were all able to get back out fairly easy, for the most part. [...] The hardest part was getting Crow and Kyou to stop fighting long enough for us to help them.

What happened in that mirror world?

[overworker]

When it pulled you in, there was this hatred it made you feel— so strong it was almost painful. It’s a really good thing we were able to get out of there quickly. It felt horrible.

That does sound terrible. What happened in there?

[overworker]

We had to rely on the others that were still out there to pull us back out. Unfortunately when Crow tried to help Kyou— he got pulled in instead. And that’s how their fight started.

What exactly were they fighting about?

[overworker]

Well... Kyou said something about Crow getting him eaten so I think it must have been about that incident.

[Even now, she can’t exactly forget it either— the monster game they were forced to play.]

[awakenerd]

Not... a great thing to think about while in angry mirror world I bet.

[Not a good thing to think about ever.]

How'd it go from there?

[overworker]

Well... I had to do a bit of yelling, but I was finally able to get through to Crow and pull him out. Tohru helped calm Kyou down.

Was that all that happened?

[overworker]

That was the worst of it. At least where I was able to help at all.

[awakenerd]

Okay. Then I guess my next question is .... "issues with gingerbread men"?

[What.]

[overworker]

Right— specifically they attacked us when we departed the train for the first time.

[Speaking of which, girl finally has her orbal gun, so— a few cookie monsters? It’s fine.]

... Malicious gingerbread....

You weren't hurt?

[overworker]

Well, it was a tough fight. They didn’t let up for nearly six hours. However, none of my injuries were too serious.

[awakenerd]

That's... a lot, Towa!

[overworker]

You're right, however-- the train didn't have the proper protection set up yet. As someone who knows how to fight... I couldn't just leave them. I just did what I could.

[awakenerd]

I understand that. But have you had a chance to rest?

[overworker]

[That actually gets Towa to laugh.]

Sorry, it's just-- even though you don't remember, you still somehow managed to find one of my bad habits.

Is that a fact? I'll keep an eye on you then.
