BOND Campfire Friends

Who: Thyme and friends (everyone)
When: Day 56, evening
Where: Outside, a little ways away from the train

[ Tonight, everyone is invited to a campfire get together. While it was organized by Thyme, friends and new faces alike are welcome to join in. They have all the things you need to make some great s'mores by the fire; including some nicely trimmed sticks for all your toasting needs. ]

We thought it might be nice to get everyone who wanted to come together and tell some stories. For us, this is an official way of bonding. But in general-- I think it could be good for everyone. So it doesn't have to just be us. If you have a story, you're welcome to share it! That goes for any other fun activities you might have in mind.

[ There's plenty of open space-- room for people to improvise if they want to add to the event. ]

The important part is that everyone gets to have fun together after all. So I hope you all enjoy yourselves. If there's anything I can do, please don't hesitate to ask.

Song over and over around then......

[ flatly: ]

They made a sequel.

No, wait, of course they did, it's a cash cow.
schrodingerscockroach: (Well we could)

[personal profile] schrodingerscockroach 2020-01-28 08:56 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, yeah.

Actually it got really cool. After the sequel, they started doing a bunch more stuff with the world over several decades. More on the magic and spirits and trolls. Crossed in with Tangled when they start exhausting options.

Some stuff bad, other stuff really good, pretty fascinating world.

[It's the RvB way to just make up sequel stuff.]

All right. So the sequel....

Years after the first movie, Elsa rules Arendelle, her powers open, and having a closer relationship with Anna. Kristof is also about to propose. Everything seems like the fairy tale ending.

But Elsa will hear a voice at night, a siren's song calling out to her. It wants her to come, but she's doesn't want to leave her family, the place where she's accepted. And yet she knows there is something missing in her life and she doesn't know if this voice is an answer, or a dark temptation. Also the iconic song of the movie.

But the choice is soon taken as suddenly Arendelle's lights all turn purple and the ground begins to quake. An Earthquake, but obviously unnatural with the ground clearly chasing people out of the kingdom. Elsa knows whatever is calling her is the cause and she must go. And Anna refuses to let her go alone. Kristof, Sven, and Olaf follow.

Because you can't leave out the mascot character.

They head towards an Enchanted Forest, from an old story their parents told them as kids. It was a place of magic and when the king was a child, his people had gone to make an alliance with the people who lived there in harmony with the spirits of fire, water, earth, and wind. The father recalled them meeting to celebrate the making of a dam as a gift to the people. But a fight had broken out, and he never knew who drew the first blade, all he knew was the spirits lashed out and he was knocked out. The next thing he knew, he had returned home alone and the forest surrounded by a barrier of mist.

As our party reaches the mist, Elsa is able to finally open a way through and they enter the Enchanted Forest. Within, they run into the spirit of wind who lashes out at the intruders, causing a whirlwind, until Elsa throws out enough ice to pacify the wind, leaving behind ice statues. And....I think it was Olaf who said water has memories. Something that was treated as a joke, but what's left behind makes it suspect.

It's then the people still alive in the mist arrive. Both the people of the forest and the Arendelle guard who didn't perish in the battle were both there. They had a tentative truce, but both though the other side had started the fight. It's also then that it comes out the mother had been one of the people in the forest, and she had saved the father when things had gone awry.

It was possible Elsa was given powers as either a reward for the mother's selflessness or a curse for the prince's possible crimes. They didn't know which.

And that's when the fire spirit comes in, setting fire to the land. There's a lot of close calls before Elsa is finally able to chase down the fire spirit and cool him down with her ice powers, betting on being able to calm him like she did the wind. They spent some time with the people, learn more about the conflict and where they are. Kristof has this boy band number where he talks about wanting to marry Anna, and he bonds with another guy who gets reindeer. They plan to do a proposal that involves a lot of them, and getting them is why he gets separated from the others for a while.

There's an island where all the magic comes from and there is supposed to be a fifth spirit there, one who can act as a bridge between humans and spirits, just for the earth giants to have thundered past. She figures out they might sense her and she doesn't want to stay with others until the problem is solved. Elsa, Anna, and Olaf go on since they can't wait for Kristof.

When they get to the shore though, they find a ship. Their parents ship. They investigate, to try and n understand why it's there, and with an old log, and Elsa's powers able to make memory sculptures from the water in the ship to see their parents' final moments. They had gone this way instead in hopes of finding answer about Elsa, to help her.

Anna wants to stay with Elsa who blames herself for their parents, but Elsa doesn't want to lose Anna in her helping her, so she tricks her and sends her away in a boat of ice.

Anna ends up having to sneak past earth giants until her and Olaf can get to a cave they can escape from.

At the same time, Elsa tries to get to the island through a stormy sea. It constantly breaks her ice and she ends up under a lot until the water spirit appears, trying to chase her off and her refusing, until she finally uses her ice to tame it like she'd done with the previous spirits. It's actually a really good piece of animation.

Elsa finally arrives at the island, which is actually a glacier, hearing the siren song again. So begins a reworking of the iconic song which is probably the better song honestly. The thing about the magic glacier is it's said to have all memories, tying into water has memory, because glaciers are known to have evidence of previous times. Frozen memories.

She goes through the glacier, and she finally realizes the siren song is her mother singing a song about this island. A haunting melody that speaks of magic and memories, but also danger. Going too deep will lead to drowning.

But Elsa has to go. And she learns she's the fifth spirit. She sees her parents past, how they fell in love and bonded until she gets to the memory of the battle. She has no choice, but to dive in too deep.

Her grandfather was the one who drew first, afraid of people who knew how to use magic. The spirits were going to punish people of Arenedelle because the dam had actually disrupted the flow of magic. Elsa is freezing in place, only able to send out a last message to Anna.

Anna is in the cave when the message comes, showing her grandfather attacking the peaceful leader. She realizes that it was their family at fault. And then she realizes Olaf has started to fall apart with Elsa's apparent death, a fact she realizes.

Anna wants to give up, until she realizes there is something she has to do. The dam has to go down, even if it meant destroying Arendelle. Their people were still outside of it after the quake and there would be no peace until things are settled. So she gets up, goes out, and provokes the earth giants to chase her. Kristof comes to her aid, as do the Arendelle knights, who help get the giants to focus on the dam as Anna runs across it. They throw boulders, taking down the dam.

It goes down and with it, the spirits release Elsa. Anna had righted the wrong of Arendelle, so Elsa was allowed to act how she wished. With the help of the water spirit and her own ice, she was able to divert the wave that would have destroyed the kingdom.

The spirits calm, the mist clears, allowing those of the forest to see the sky for the first time in a long time. The people are happy, and before Anna could mourn Elsa for long, she arrives back in the forest, revealing she's the fith spirit and she knows where they both belong.

Elsa in the forest to be the bridge, and Anna to be the queen Arendelle needs and deserves.

Kristof finally manages to propose and the movie ends with both sisters apart, but still connected, and where they want to be.
