BOND Campfire Friends

Who: Thyme and friends (everyone)
When: Day 56, evening
Where: Outside, a little ways away from the train

[ Tonight, everyone is invited to a campfire get together. While it was organized by Thyme, friends and new faces alike are welcome to join in. They have all the things you need to make some great s'mores by the fire; including some nicely trimmed sticks for all your toasting needs. ]

We thought it might be nice to get everyone who wanted to come together and tell some stories. For us, this is an official way of bonding. But in general-- I think it could be good for everyone. So it doesn't have to just be us. If you have a story, you're welcome to share it! That goes for any other fun activities you might have in mind.

[ There's plenty of open space-- room for people to improvise if they want to add to the event. ]

The important part is that everyone gets to have fun together after all. So I hope you all enjoy yourselves. If there's anything I can do, please don't hesitate to ask.

The array draws it to the fire and limits its presence to the fire, and the chicken bones are bait.

[and in the fire there is! something starting to stir! nosing at the burning paper and digging out the chicken bones is something like an emperor newt. if an emperor newt was a foot long and also glowing instead of just having orange bits.]

I've not seen a reptile quite like this, before.

[the salamandar doesn't have any claws or any noticible teeth, but it's doing its best to eat those chicken bones. which despite it being only a campfire, the bones are starting to burn. huh!]

Technically it's neither a reptile nor an amphibian. There's some surface similarities appearance-wise, but it spends as much of its time in or near fires as it can, unlike a normal salamander which needs to stay moist.

I see, thank you for clarifying its classification. What is it then, technically speaking and what else does it eat, if anything?

They're mostly known for being scavengers. They can hunt other little things that live in fire, but they do pretty good for themselves eating whatever gets caught up in wildfires or burned as trash... As for their classification, they're still considered batrachomorphs in terms of their anatomy, but monsters aren't usually grouped exactly 1:1 with normal animal classifications. Even things like hellhounds can't technically be called canines.

They are rather adorable, yes. How did you come by the knowledge to call them here?

It's just something I picked up when I was learning how to summon hellhounds when I was little. They have differerent requirements, but salamandars are a good starter to practice with.
