[It's evening, and as the stars come out you get that text again:]

WELCOME NEW HEROES

[This round's newbies are waking up in their rooms, in the usual nondescript undies or team pyjamas.

Outside, the fog is gone. In its place is a pleasant evening, its beauty enhanced by tiny, softly-glowing flowers along the jungle paths. Unfortunately, should you peer closer toy may notice these flowers have blackened, curled leaves -- and the scent that wafts up when you step on them will either heighten or dull one of your senses.

But hey, why go in the jungle when you could eat questionable snacks in the lounge again? This time there are towers of round chocolates in varying colours, and sparkle blue and white snowflake decor on the walls and hanging from the ceiling. In typical Star Prince and Knights fashion there is a lot of glitter, and the chocolates definitely have a magical side-effect: in this case, transformation.

☆ Blue-wrapped chocolates cause your character to shift in age. They may get older or younger, and this transformation may be purely physical or may include mental shifting as well.

☆ Silver-wrapped chocolates cause your character to gain animal features -- anything from cat ears to fully becoming a cat is acceptable, and any animal real or mythical is game. It won't change you to a size that doesn't fit in the train, though.

☆ White-wrapped chocolates cause a transformation to a different physical sex.

☆ Black-wrapped chocolates cause you to take on the form of another person -- someone on the train or someone you remember from elsewhere. It won't turn you into anyone you don't personally know, however.

These effects wear off within a few hours, and you can combine more than one. Enjoy your icebreaker and make that fresh meat feel welcome!]

[Senna common areas]

[Here's a new face, methodically opening every door and drawer he can in every place in the car that he can reach. He's dressed in his battle outfit, but without the full armor and huge horned helmet- or so he appears. In actuality he's still dressed in his arrival pajamas, his current clothing an illusion cast over them.

[He frowns whenever he finds something he cannot open, then makes a motion with his hands. A slight glimmer in the air appears- a magic spell to any that can sense it- but it has no effect, and his frown deepens.]


[Lounge]

[Loki has chosen a nice luxurious chair that gives him a good view of the entire room and everyone in it. He still has the illusion of his battle clothes up, but underneath it he has changed into his team uniform, all in black. He has a book open in his lap and seems to be reading it at a leisurely pace, but in truth he's watching everyone. Watching how they behave by themselves, how they interact with each other.]

Unfortunately you're not gonna find many answers in the cabinetry.

[After all the banging, she decided to leave her spell work to investigate.]

[And well, she can guess from those reactions.]

You go through your....Chain yet? [Some disdain for that name, okay.]

[Also hi, have a weird unicorn thing.]

[He turns away from the cabinet of dishes he'd just finished examining, expecting to find a human, and is a little taken aback to see a brightly-colored unicorn instead. But he still recovers fast.]

Ah, but I have found some answers already.

My... Chain. [He pauses for a second, then pulls the smartphone out of seemingly nowhere and holds it up.] Are you referring to this?

Yeah. Personally, I call it a phone because what the hay even is with that name? [Rolling her eyes.] But not everyone knows what a phone is.

And what answers have you got so far? I'm Solar Flare, team senior and answer of what you don't already know.

There must be a reason behind the... ominous name. [He lets his dangle disdainfully from his hand, looking like he might drop it at any moment.] And I would hardly call it a phone, when it cannot serve the most basic function of one. [I.e. he's tried calling on it and gotten nowhere. But since he was only calling numbers of people he knows on Earth, that might have something to do with it.]

[His eyes narrow and his expression darkens further.]

Team senior. And answer. Are you the one in charge, then?

I know, right?! Finally, someone gets it. [It's a terrible name, why call it a chain? Hell, call it a key.]

What do you mean? I'm pretty sure they can contact people. We have all these profiles to fill out and everything.

Yep. Been here a whole nine days. A whole like....hour older than Penric. [Delivered in quite the sardonic tone.] So you know, a whole font of wisdom and experience.

And I'm the most outgoing and decisive on Senna so I guess I am in that way. [Shrugs.] But it's not like some kind of official thing.

If you mean in charge of the train, that's technically the Prince, though he's kind of just a figurehead since he's always MIA. There's information on the phone to help cover basics of the story they're going with anyway.

[Loki listens quietly, then smiles and laughs. He likes you, unicorn. And he's relieved that you're not the one responsible for kidnapping and robbing him.]

A whole nine days. You have spent nine days as a hero attempting to save the universe? This Prince must be desperate.

I have tried to use the phone to call... friends. It did not respond as it should.

[He does start fiddling with the menu. Bringing up the arrival message and looking for the further information she mentioned.]

And how much of the story do you believe?

[ A smol but determined child is walking over to him, pinging as something not quite human and not quite aligned with the light. ]

I have a question.

[Loki likes children. They're easy to impress. He's also not actively looking for non-humans hiding as humans so nothing about the boy strikes him as unusual. He sets aside his book and smiles indulgently.]

You may ask it, if you wish.

You know what Europe is, right?

The region of Midgard? Yes, I know of it. I have visited it on occasion. [Is this about that German city? Or just the myths?]

I believe you humans refer to it as Earth.

I'm pretty sure that was not in your closet.

[have a tall human watching you; depending on how Loki's senses for mystical things, this human has a chaos elemental sharing his body]

[Despite being a self-proclaimed god, Loki's not in the habit of looking for mystical things, so all he sees is a strange human.]

Of course it was not; these are my personal garments, and I would not expect anyone else to have them.

They're also not Senna-colored, which seems to be what the train provides on its own.

It's something of a unity thing.

The train thinks to enforce unity through controlling our clothing? [So much disdain dripping from his voice.]

I wear my own colors. I will not be forced into another's livery.

Or the Conductor does. I have to say, the colors are better than wandering around in white all of the time.

[He's slightly less than cool and collected. Clearly trying to go for it, but a hint of losing his temper.]

[ She lifts a cool eyebrow, completely unmoved. ]

Yes, other than that.

[In other circumstances, Loki would appreciate that response. It's the sort he'd give. But he doesn't like it being used on him.]

I have seen the introductory message, yes. But as the device was provided by the being who brought me here, I do not put much stock in its information.
