Who: The Glitter Criminal
When: Day 42, Morning
Where: The Jackal Express

[Hey, Aurora. Do you hear that? A slight whining noise, barely audible over the noises of the train itself?

Well, early in the morning of day 42, that whine becomes a loud POP.

And now all the public cars and all of Senna is literally covered in glitter. Glitter rains from the vents. Shoots out from under seats. Glitter big enough to come in funny shapes. Tiny iridescent glitter that you're never going to get out of your clothes coats the windows, making the scenery glimmer. Glitter everywhere in every shape, size and color.]

[He's leaning over the back of the couch.]

I don't get much sleep otherwise.

[ Hi, Sunset. Sleepily boops her nose to the kitten's. ]

[ Shuffles around, reaching up with the hand not currently cradling Sunset to try to brush some of the glitter out of his hair. ]

I got hit by a tidal wave trying to go to the gym myself. Sunset keeps running off to roll in it. [Mew.]

Not that many. I usually nod off eventually, and the gym's helped.

[ Brushes it off his shoulders once most of it's out of his hair ]

Sunset, I can't blame you, but you're gonna make Dusk cry. [ Another nose boop!! ] ... Do you think it'd come shooting out of the showers? Or are the dorms safe?

Do you know why you're having trouble? [Reaches up to ruffle her hair of glitter.]

....maybe we should avoid showers until the glitter bombs stop.

[ She ducks her head, but doesn't bat at his hand. ]

I dunno. I'm just ... restless, I guess? What about you?

[ Wrinkles her nose. ]

That sounds hygienic.

Do you ever start awake in a panic?

Restless, sometimes dreams of stressful things. [Like. Biting her, but not gonna say that.]

I'm sure the bombs will be done by tomorrow.

... Once or twice, yeah. [ Rubs the back of her neck, scratching vaguely at the grooved scar. ] If it's from a bad dream, I don't remember it.

[ Pats the seat next to her if he hasn't already come around to sit. ]

They'd better be! I was gonna use the communal kitchen today.

That sounds less like restlessness as some kind of anxiety. Possibly PTSD.

[He'll]

[Actually remove the cushion and dump all the glitter on the floor because sitting on a mound of glitter doesn't sound fun.]

[Then put it down and take a seat.]

At least it's better then the angry sounds.

Ehh, really? I don't know ... [ That sounds like a bigger deal than she wants this to be!! ] It's not that serious. Happens to everyone sometimes, right?

[ ... I mean. Probably a good plan. Settles Sunset into her lap to give more pets, now that she isn't craning around the sofa. ]

On the one hand, yeah; on the other, it's making it hard for me to bake cookies.

People who've been through stressful situations, yeah. Like the wartime soldier. A few other people to. Has it been every night?

I can help you clean the kitchen?

[ WELL .............. ]

Uhm, maybe. [ That's a yes. ] But if it was something serious like PTSD, wouldn't I have reacted worse when you dropped a kitten on my face? [ Pets the kitty!! ]

If you wanna help, I won't say no. We'll need buckets and brooms, and, hm, maybe umbrellas.

Depends entirely on the PTSD. A lot of things can be triggers. Like I don't like being boxed in. It may also be what makes you nervous is sleeping alone, so gentle nudging is okay. But if say, a person fell on you instead of a light cat, then you might have reacted badly.

I'm not sure umbrellas can save us at this point.

Like when we first met. [ A good, wholesome, fun time that ended far better than it might have. She laughs, slightly wry, slightly sheepish. ]

An umbrella would make a good shield! Like if we're opening something and glitter comes shooting out like a fire hose. It's best to be prepared, you know.

A little bit, yeah. And fighting instinct, it might have gone more poorly if I was in a blind panic. [He can't be SURE, but it's a possibility.] Have you tried anything besides exhausting yourself?

....that does sound unpleasant, mostly I've just had it all fall on me.
