EVENT: The Sound of Summer

[After several hours of Kiss or Dare, the bar lights go off and you're let out into the grey pre-dawn. The Cat isn't one for ceremony, so there's no closing fanfare -- but in the sky are new stars in cobalt, pink, & violet. Congratulations to the winners!

You could go home and get some sleep, but you might have a rough time with that. As the sun appears in the sky, there's a horrible ruckus -- the sound of what seems like a million cicadas suddenly springing to life. They're staying in the canopy, not causing particular problems with buzzing around, but they are deafening.

Occasionally, you may hear one particularly low-pitched cicada noise. If you do, cover your ears, else you become hypnotized, overcome by a destructive urge. Those effected will find themselves compelled to act out violence on inanimate objects -- it's only property destruction, but the longer you're effected the more likely you are to lash out at anyone trying to stop you.

Good thing the hypnosis is broken by hugs, because this will be lasting for awhile.

Maybe it's the noise or maybe it's just bad timing, but the arrival of the cicadas is accompanied by the arrival of some new teammates! As always, the notifcation will appear on everyone's Chains:

Well time and space are both higher elements... I'd probably classify an inventory as space related.

Still. For the level of technology Crow knows about, to not be in space five hundred years later is weird. Especially when you have ways to mitigate supply issues. Getting a thing to space is easy, its the keeping people alive that's hard because its a closed system of resouces.

[Bed all neatly made and everything. Gonna take a seat on the edge of the bed with a sigh, taking another long drink.]

I couldn't tell you why. Maybe orbal technology isn't good for that kind of thing or maybe there's some reason I can't remember it.

Kinda thinking there's some major repression of technology going on. Just from logical progression standpoint, your world is real lopsided.

There's too much I don't remember to even speculate on it.

But back to the real topic, how are you doing?

Wishing I can drink without bkacking out after half a glass.

That's a distressingly low tolerance yeah, but I promise you you'd just end up with a hangover and the same troubles so maybe it's a blessing you have to deal with it sober.

But it'd sure be a nice distraction.

Just can't get drunk. Memory issues aren't related thankfully.

Well, forced sobriety aside, how're you doing?

...mostly confused. Embarrassed. Questioning things.

What're you questioning?

Am I asexual or demisexual? Is that what I'm like when I'm in love? Was it just the affect? Like I could focus on the situation so I didn't hit on people when it'd be an absolutely terrible idea too, so where between 'affect' and 'me' am I?

Did I make people uncomfortable? Do I know what it looks like or did I miss it? Am I going to need to explain to Crow that no, I am not going to just jump into bed with him.

And...some other....stuff....

[Maybe I will just chug the rest of this cocoa.]

I guess it's a lot to consider. I don't think you need to find all the answers right away though. It's impossible to tell a lot of that without falling in love, right?

So the stuff worth thinking about is if you did anything you need to talk to people about, and working that through with others right?

Overthinking things will just give you another headache, it's okay to consider things a bit at a time, I think.

I know. Just. A lot to get through. [He sets down the mug with a sigh.] That I don't know how to deal with and not quite so ready to shove that in a box to ignore.

Well, don't ignore it. Okay one thing, pretty sure Crow won't mind if you're not interested.

And the rest, well, what do you think? You're observant. Do you think you made anyone uncomfortable?

....I don't know. I think it's fine, but another part of me is worried I was misreading things because I was compromised. Or I don't know, I might be leading someone on now because everyone thinks I'm charming???

You were charming before. If someone falls for you it's not just going to be for this.

The leading on part is more the concern.

[He still doesn't believe this charming nonsense.]

Do you think it's likely?

I have no idea. I think I've had experience, I don't know if that means I know what I'm actually doing besides some physical stuff.

[He sighs and falls back.] The worst one to get it was you, mostly from exposure, but you're also very...relaxed?

Haha... Well if I'm fine you can probably just assume anyone else is?

If you ever do seriously court someone though I doubt they'd have any chance.
