EVENT: The Sound of Summer

When: Day 40, dawn
Where: around the train

[After several hours of Kiss or Dare, the bar lights go off and you're let out into the grey pre-dawn. The Cat isn't one for ceremony, so there's no closing fanfare -- but in the sky are new stars in cobalt, pink, & violet. Congratulations to the winners!

You could go home and get some sleep, but you might have a rough time with that. As the sun appears in the sky, there's a horrible ruckus -- the sound of what seems like a million cicadas suddenly springing to life. They're staying in the canopy, not causing particular problems with buzzing around, but they are deafening.

Occasionally, you may hear one particularly low-pitched cicada noise. If you do, cover your ears, else you become hypnotized, overcome by a destructive urge. Those effected will find themselves compelled to act out violence on inanimate objects -- it's only property destruction, but the longer you're effected the more likely you are to lash out at anyone trying to stop you.

Good thing the hypnosis is broken by hugs, because this will be lasting for awhile.

Maybe it's the noise or maybe it's just bad timing, but the arrival of the cicadas is accompanied by the arrival of some new teammates! As always, the notifcation will appear on everyone's Chains:

There is something and I keep bouncing between is it rude to ask you, or would it only be fair to ask you because of previous actions....

I know I don't do attraction normally, that was the magic. I don't know my actual reactions on kissing and now I'm curious.

Oh is that all.

[Sarcasm, not light sarcasm. Mainly he's flustered and embarrassed and flattered and a whole host of complicated things.]

I would definitely kiss you, if you wanted, but... I don't know, I guess I don't really want to disappoint you ultimately.

[He's joining him in the flustered, pretty red himself, but that last part confuses him.]

How would you disappoint me?

[He's trying to figure out how to phrase it himself.]

Just..... I guess the idea that it won't be as fun for you if you're not into it. I mean that much would be normal.

I mean.

The only way to know that is to try it out when I'm not affected by magic.

Which is why I'm asking.

Yeah, you're right. There's no way to be sure without trying it.

Do you want to right now?

....I guess the question if you'd be fine with it.

I figure might as well roll with the already flustered train.

I do want to kiss you, so... I think that's more than fine with it.

[He nods, looking at the ceiling for a few moments, taking a deep breath, holding it, and then letting it out after a few seconds.]

[Then he's going to sit up. Still very red, but looking more determined, turning to look at Rean.]

If you're sure.

[Hesitates a moment, and reaches out to put a hand on his cheek.]

[awakenerd]

[He's red himself but taking a breath and covering Dusk's hand with his own, lifting his other hand to touch Dusk's cheek.]

If you don't kiss me in a minute I'm going to end up kissing you first. Is that sure enough?

[He chuckles a bit shyly.] Got it.

[But then he'll lean in to kiss him now. More of a tentative thing, still unsure and easing himself into it.]

[awakenerd]

[Despite his "threat", or more like an embarrassed whine, earlier, he's patient and flustered and happy to go at Dusk's pace. He kisses back gently, not passive but pretty careful not to push it further than what Dusk is going for. His heart's beating fast and he's going to have to admit to himself he really, really does like Dusk a lot. Well, that wasn't exactly a secret to himself.]

[Dusk still feels flustered, his own heart pounding. Still slow at first, letting himself really take in the feeling without charmed affection confusing him.]

[And.]

[It is nice. Even with the embarrassment, it does feel nice and he finds himself relaxing as he gets used to it, deepening the kiss, hand moving to rest at the base of his neck.]

[Rean is not really an impatient person but it's actually very difficult not to kiss Dusk harder. He's actively working on just savoring this, accepting the sweetness of it without getting greedy.

His fingers curl and he drops his hand to find Dusk's free one, absently holding onto it.

It's not like he needed confirmation he liked kissing but it's also nice to kiss Dusk without worrying about the other man's state of mind. Easier to get lost in enjoying it which makes it harder to stay calm in a way.]

[It's definitely different, kissing this way. Without being half convinced he might actually be in love with Rean and hazy on those feelings. Less fire, but more clarity, let him savor it a bit more.]

[He feels the hand on his, turning his in Rean's hand, letting their fingers intertwine. His other hand pulling him closer, kissing him harder, teeth and tongue lightly teasing his lips.]

[Rean holds onto Dusk's hand lightly. Lips parting and tongue brushing invitingly over Dusk's, boldly wanting more but not pushy.]

[Dusk responds in kind, curiosity and enjoyment still strong, wanting to see more, especially when it does mean giving Rean something he wants. He does like Rean and it's nice and it's nice to give Rean something he does want.]

[He takes the invitation, kissing him deeper, exploring his mouth, pulling him closer.]
