[ He snarls it, but it's a credit to the fact he's hearing her voice at all that he even says anything before he shoots. ]

I didn't think you really hated me enough to kill me, Crow.

[She says it placidly.]

If you keep shooting, you'll hit someone you'd actually regret shooting. I can take it--do you think Eliza can?

[She is fairly certain, in spite of everything, even crow's cagey ass would feel bad if he hurt Eliza...]

Calm down. You know I'm stronger. I'm not hurting you now, am I?

[ He squints at her, frowning at that. ]

You even sound like her....

[She pauses. Considers. There's a small pop and idk if his hallucination changes when her form does but

does it match the smol soft paw prodding his cheek?]

Close your eyes. Use your other senses. Something's not right and we both know it.

[ The hallucination does shift into something smaller. And no, it doesn't match the small, soft paw he feels and he frowns at that, closing his eyes and reaching out to-- her head, apparently. ]

Naeva?

[ He sounds uncertain. ]

[It has to be her. Nothing he's seeing could possibly be that soft. She makes a soft little whined noise but doesn't stop him.]

Yes. It's me...what happened to you?

[ He'll keep petting her, but now he looks more confused and visibly distressed than anything else. All pretense at composure is gone right now. ]

There was a trial and-- and we lost, and then there's... monsters everywhere, but... but you're not? But you look....

Something must be messing with how you see things...Hallucinations.

[She sighs a little, but doesn't change back yet.]

Listen, I can get you safely back to your room, you won't have to see anyone else, but you'll have to do something hard for you--you'll have to trust me. Can you?

[ He's quiet for a long moment. ]

I'll give it a shot.

[ It's the best he can promise. ]

I can work with that. Pull your headband down over your eyes.

[She'll change back now, but keep her hand on his, so he can feel that it's still, y'know, her.]

[ He hates it and it's probably obvious by the look on his face, but he tugs the headband down and over his eyes and holds onto her hand. ]

[Well, she is going to do this as fast as she can, leading him back towards the train and licorice's car...]

Who else was with you?

[She has it on good authority Lucien wasn't, but if she has to go collect more children...]

Lucky and Hlasoh. Dunno how they're doing now, though. I got... distracted.

...I'll worry about them later. One person at a time.

[Doot doot she's really glad she knows the way to Licorice really well now which one of these door's is Crow's--

She's just gonna pick the one that smells most like him.]

[ It's the only one he goes to regularly, and he keeps it actually pretty clean but there's probably still enough there that it still smells like him. ]

From what I know of Hlasoh, you might not have such an easy time getting to her either.

I've been through something like this with her once before. And she mostly does trust me...

[Sighing, but she'll lead him in until he can feel the bed so he can sit down.]

Is there anything else you need help with? Otherwise, I'm going to tell Rean to bring you enough food and water you don't have to leave until this wears off.

[ He opens his mouth to let out an easy, comfortable lie-- "I'll be fine"-- but what actually comes out is: ]

[She doesn't argue it, doesn't press it, doesn't even acknowledge the open honesty.]

[She turns to leave...]

[ He mumbles the words as he pushes his headband back up and walks towards his bed. At least his bed isn't betraying him by looking like a monster. ]
