[This morning, or whenever you wake up, you will find that there are delicious smells wafting from the lounge car. Upon investigation, one will discover a beautiful spread of hot cocoa and tea and coffee and many marshmallow animals, ideal for putting in your drinks or simply eating wholesale. It isn't just cats either, but many animals of a similar quality of marshmallow, whatever kinds you'd like. But you may find the warm fuzzies they impart might be a bit more than internal.

In a conspicuous place is a note in handwriting many of you may find quite familiar at this point:

[ The lounge has plenty of low tables, so he grabs one near some chairs and sits down before he pulls out two decks of cards and slides one over to Wash. ]

This is a Blade deck.

[ He lays out each of the cards. ]

Each player draws ten cards from their deck. The idea is to be the guy with the highest point value by the end of the game. So there's the number value cards, one through seven, and some specialty cards too.

[He'll take the deck, looking them over, nodding thoughtfully.]

[Pauses at the Force card. Oooooh, that does look like a cool combo.]

[....okay, he may like weapons.]

Is it a kind of battle card game?

Kind of! It's a strategy game, the specialty cards are what makes it interesting.

[ He points to the Force card Wash was eyeing. ]

This one, for example, can double your current points value.

[He nods.] Sounds like a powerful card then.

Yeah but it's definitely one you're gonna want to save for the right time or it'll all become worthless.

[ He points to the Bolt card. ]

This one removes the last card your opponent played.... under most circumstances, though if your opponent has a "1" card, they can use it to restore it.

Well yeah, gotta save your aces.

[He nods, laying down one of each card.] Can't think of many games that put a lot of value in the '1' card. Kind of cool.

Yeah, I think it's pretty cool too. Very situational, but it can definitely save your ass.

[ He points to the Mirror card. ]

This one swaps your your active cards with your opponent's. So if your opponent's got a much better hand than you do, you can swap 'em.

[ Crow lets out another snort of laughter before he shakes his head in mock-tragedy. ]

And the whole thing could've been avoided if a different card had been played...!

So what does blast do?

That one lets you remove a random card from your opponent's hand. Unfortunately, you won't really know what that card was until it's discarded.

So a bit of luck. Or really good at reading smoeone's reactions.

Exactly! A little bit of strategy can go a long way if you can get a read on your opponent.

Guess I'll get to see if i'm any good at that. So the numbers are just point values other than one countering bolt?

Yeah, that's right. Oh, but you figure out who goes first by drawing a card-- whoever has the lower value goes first. If you draw a special card, it counts for a point value of "one."

Got it. So a lot of chances for ones.

And how do...rounds? Go?

We draw to figure out who goes first-- if it's a tie, we keep going until it isn't. The guy with the lower value plays first, and then the opponent plays a card. If it ends up in a tie at any point, both people discard their hand and they try drawing for who plays first again. The game ends when there's either an unambiguous winner or you both run out of cards, at which point the person with the highest value wins.

So it's just constantly building up points unless a draw happens?
