Who: everyone
When: Day 35 morning
Where: the lounge car

[This morning, or whenever you wake up, you will find that there are delicious smells wafting from the lounge car. Upon investigation, one will discover a beautiful spread of hot cocoa and tea and coffee and many marshmallow animals, ideal for putting in your drinks or simply eating wholesale. It isn't just cats either, but many animals of a similar quality of marshmallow, whatever kinds you'd like. But you may find the warm fuzzies they impart might be a bit more than internal.

In a conspicuous place is a note in handwriting many of you may find quite familiar at this point:

Thanks for your help.

- Hazel

His signature isn't alone, either. There are a couple of others, though somehow they're far less readable? Some are definitely just little drawings. Weird.]

[[ooc notes: 10% furry event!! many marshmallows have no effect, but those that do will instill temporary animal parts up to a kemonomimi level! enjoy your ears and tails, folks. and your newbies.]]

It broke into the train and dragged people underground once.

[....well fuck.]

I wonder if there's a way to set up traps...what does it...look like? I guess? What kind of things grab people?

It doesn't look like anything. It uses mutated animals and plants that are themselves corrupted. Underground we were attacked by a thing that was just slime.

I see. What else can you tell me about it? How it fights, what hurts it?

If it possesses things, it can probably change things up, but better to have an idea for any preparations.

[Soldiers man gonna soldier.]

[staring into her cocoa, reciting. oh right she's on Thyme, so they get points for this. yay....]

The first attack was a giant dolphin beaching itself. If you go to the corrupt end of the beach, the water will still try to pull you in. A guy dropped a sun on the dolphin.

The slime turned out to be mostly invulnerable to attack. It just kept growing bigger and more acidic. Being cheerful at it hurt it.

There was a flower in an abandoned church that would cut, stab, and try to drown people. It may have been a person once, too. It was able to speak. The building flooded.

Like...an actual sun or a magic spell? Do you know why the building flooded?

[Still, this is very interesting, making mental notes.] And reacting to emotions, huh...

[personal profile] bowtiedbones 2019-07-17 04:19 am (UTC)(link)
It was a spell. The building flooded because it was time for us to leave. Malice is negative. Positive emotions, faith, and personal connections are what we need to have against it.
schrodingerscockroach: (Well we could)

[personal profile] schrodingerscockroach 2019-07-17 04:24 am (UTC)(link)
Right, right. And that's part of why bonds are powerful....

[Huh.]

You know, I wonder if it's possible to get an item to kind of resonate with this bonding thing? I know one is defending others, if two people made something together, what do you think the chances are it'd have more impact to this Malice if it was hit with it?

I don't do weaponry. You'll have to ask someone else about that.

[personal profile] schrodingerscockroach 2019-07-17 04:29 am (UTC)(link)
Fair enough. Any recommendations or should I just ask around?

Though I was also asking your thoughts on the theory? I may be jumping the gun.

Senna has a bond for decorating things. You could probably incorporate that aspect, like with a glitter bomb. Otherwise I think any value generated is going to be in the actual making of the object, not necessarily in the item itself. If I buy and give someone a shirt, the shirt's not special, it's the act of giving it that is.
schrodingerscockroach: (This is so awkwrd)

[personal profile] schrodingerscockroach 2019-07-17 04:56 am (UTC)(link)
That is a good point. [He sighs.] ....might still try it. I dunno, might be good creative problem solving. Glitter has possibilities anyway.

Anything else stick out about it?

It can affect your emotions and imitate your fears.
schrodingerscockroach: (...what)

[personal profile] schrodingerscockroach 2019-07-17 10:35 pm (UTC)(link)
Like, it makes a clown if you're afraid of clowns, or like if you're afraid of being alone, it makes you feel alone?

Sounds like a grand old time. [The dryest tone.]

Just watch out for it.

[personal profile] schrodingerscockroach 2019-07-17 10:48 pm (UTC)(link)
Got it.

[It'll be so fun.]

So, anything else? Just, in general, not necessarily about Malice.

If food comes from someone not on a team, it probably has a side effect.

[personal profile] schrodingerscockroach 2019-07-17 11:00 pm (UTC)(link)
Ah. So this kind of thing happens often? [Gestures to the ears.]
bowtiedbones: (85)

[personal profile] bowtiedbones 2019-07-17 11:04 pm (UTC)(link)
It's not always a physical effect. Sometimes it's emotional. But it's happened often enough to be identifiable.

[personal profile] bowtiedbones 2019-07-19 12:58 am (UTC)(link)
It’s... just for fun, I think? Fun and encouraging bonding.
schrodingerscockroach: (:))

[personal profile] schrodingerscockroach 2019-07-19 04:14 am (UTC)(link)
....well, it is kind of fun. Funny, at least.

[Ear flick.]
