EVENT: ORIGIN'S ORIGINS (Aftermingle)

[As the final session of exploring the town ends, it's getting close to dawn.

There's a break of about an hour, while the explorers return, licking their wounds. Then, a flash of dark, violet sparkles, and a petite young man with many many wings appears, standing atop the train.

Some of you have heard his voice before, speaking of justice in Trials. You might've heard about him, and how there's "something wrong with him", too. This is The Angel, and his wings are dyed a deep black, with feathers falling out in a sickly way. He doesn't look too pleased, but he also doesn't look like he's about to attack.]

So, you searched. What did you find out? I want to know if you really think this universe is worth saving.

If it's not... Then there's no point to your existence, is there?

[Well. He's not attacking yet, anyway. He is taking a moment to gesture at your deertaur companion though -- a wisp of black wind is pulled out of his mouth.]

I'll give you one chance.

[At least your dead companions are safe? They're waking up now in their rooms, none the worse for wear. But they remember dying, and they have a deep sense that they've seen a kind of void no person should ever look into.]

I'm pretty jealous! Being in a pack sounds nice.

That's a weird thing to be jealous of, but I guess I should always be ready to get weird here.

I think it's pretty great so I wouldn't say it's weird to be jealous of it, but it was a weird happening. None of us could turn into wolves until a few days ago.

[clerically]

Wow, this is really some adventure we're on! [It's so exciting she can pretend she didn't croak!] So, how did you end up wolfy?

[bowtiedbones]

It was a Trial— which I can get into later if nobody's gone over those yet. My team gets sparks for teaching, so ask anybody in green if you have a question about how things work!

But it was set-up where there were three groups raising a daughter to become a princess. Our daughter turned out to be an Everchanger, which meant she developed a transformation ability when she was exposed to magic. Within the story of the setting, this was also hereditary! She was a wolf Everchanger, so we as her parents were thus also Everchangers. And it stuck!

I heard just a little about these things... and I'm not really sure what sparks are either, if you want to teach me for some.

[Just like it sounded nice to be a part of a pack, it sounded nice to have a family. Maybe one day she would too.

That's amazing! Did she get to be a princess?

She did! And she got married, too!

This is probably the best thing I've heard all day! I wish being a hero was just raising people to get their goals, that would be super great.

[bowtiedbones]

It would be, wouldn't it? But at least it's part of it!

[clerically]

That's true!

I hope creepy vines are less a part of it next time we do this, though. I might never look at a plant the same way again.

Have you seen the garden car?

[clerically]

No... but I'm not sure if I want to now.

[bowtiedbones]

That's understandable. But it's there if you ever want tiny, harmless plants.

[clerically]

Do you think someone would go with me? I'm sure it's fine, but I'd be less worried if I had backup.

[bowtiedbones]

I'm sure nobody would mind. There's someone gardening in there often enough, too.
