EVENT: ORIGIN'S ORIGINS (Aftermingle)
Who: everyone
When: Day 32, morning
Where: the clearing
[As the final session of exploring the town ends, it's getting close to dawn.
There's a break of about an hour, while the explorers return, licking their wounds. Then, a flash of dark, violet sparkles, and a petite young man with many many wings appears, standing atop the train.
Some of you have heard his voice before, speaking of justice in Trials. You might've heard about him, and how there's "something wrong with him", too. This is The Angel, and his wings are dyed a deep black, with feathers falling out in a sickly way. He doesn't look too pleased, but he also doesn't look like he's about to attack.]
So, you searched. What did you find out? I want to know if you really think this universe is worth saving.
If it's not... Then there's no point to your existence, is there?
[Well. He's not attacking yet, anyway. He is taking a moment to gesture at your deertaur companion though -- a wisp of black wind is pulled out of his mouth.]
I'll give you one chance.
[At least your dead companions are safe? They're waking up now in their rooms, none the worse for wear. But they remember dying, and they have a deep sense that they've seen a kind of void no person should ever look into.]

I can go buy you a shirt from my team, if you want? My team colors are green, white, and black.

[pauses]
So you absolutely shouldn't give me anything cuz the same thing might happen to it.

Have you figured out your chain? The phone?

No.

Okay, well, this is a chain. There's going to be a lot to take in, so just let me know if I need to back up or slow don on anything.
You can see here that I have 8100 sparks on hand to spend. I can use these to buy food, clothes, tools... and for 2000 sparks I can even build a new room in my team's carriage. For every 1000 earned, I'm also awarded a token to get one of my abilities back. If you're missing your memories, you'll get a token every 500 sparks. Those can be spent straight away or saved up for later.

[wonders if they’ll be alright.]
...
[Oh boy.]
Uh huh...

Most of my points aren't from teaching, though! Not a lot of the other types either, but I've gotten good sparks off of hugging. A lot come from trials or other weird happenings. If your team wins in a trial, all of you get 500. Even if you don't win, you still each get 300 as long as one of you at least shows up. If you run a trial, that's 800.

[that sounds terrible?? can't I just sell of a kidney]
Trials???

Trials are events run by Cardamom's associates. We've had 13 this month, so they happen fairly regularly. They come in all kinds of set-ups, from small cute icebreakers to really immersive challenges with full settings and active characters. Some of them are also extremely dangerous or can otherwise cause permanent physical changes.
