Who: Rean, Crow, and Randy
When: day 28
Where: the garden

[Rean's been passed out since princess maker, so a good 40 hours at least. When he wakes up... well he's immortal but here's never been in a position where there's no ambient mana he can use to even function basically. He feels fuzzy and almost like he's sick for over an hour, and he runs into more than one wall and that's all so absolutely unreal to him he finally texts Randy and Crow a simple word Garden. It takes him three tries to spell it right before hitting send.

And he'll be there next to a chalk circle full of symbols.]

[ Crow nods and considers for a moment before he pulls his hand back long enough to bite down on his thumb hard enough to draw blood. He holds it back out after a moment, once he's certain that his thumb is bleeding. ]

[He kneels within the circle, reaching to take Crow's hand. As their fingers touch the circle glows. Rean hasn't the mana to do anything himself but he can channel Crow's into this with the offered blood.

His voice grows otherworldly.]

Dost thou desire power?

[ He's taking this completely seriously, nodding firmly once. ]

Yeah... I do.

[ For a myriad of reasons, not the least of which is helping Rean out of this predicament. ]

[The circle glows brighter and Rean's eyes glow red, looking up at Crow still holding his hand.]

Call my name.

[ Red eyes meet red eyes, though Crow's aren't glowing. ]

Rean Schwarzer.

[ This feels like a full-name occasion. ]

[Rean smiles at Crow as their eyes meet, faint and a little strange and distant.

It's actually a very... Simple ceremony all told, really. For improvisation Rean figured it was best to try to keep simple and close as possible to how it should have gone.

And it works. Crow's cut heals and the circle becomes blinding, robbing Crow of sight for a few moments. The magic... Snaps right in place. Crow's soul and Rean's tied together in a pact bound by will and magic and a drop of blood.

There might not be any immediate effects that are noticeable, no suddenly feeling a connection to Rean or hearing his thoughts, not yet. But there is a shift, a pull of power, a wave of vertigo as Crow's mana is, somewhat, depleted, to supply Rean with enough to at least exist.

The dizziness will pass, as will the blinding light, though whether Crow makes it through still conscious is another matter.]

[ The dizziness might pass-- does pass-- but Crow doesn't make it through that without his vision going black. He doesn't have a chance to let out a warning before his legs give out beneath him and the world fades away, away, away...

...to the sweet embrace of nothingness. ]

[Rean catches Crow easily, stronger and more steady now.

And he'll take Crow back to his room to lay him down in bed until he regains consciousness.]

[ He's not unconscious for too long, groaning softly as his eyelashes flutter against his cheeks. Red eyes peer blearily around the room and he sits up, holding his head. ]

Where....?

My room.

[It's. well, Ginger. Cozy and rustic and pleasant.]

How're you doing?

[ He glances around the room before speaking up. ]

Somehow, it suits you.

[ And then he focuses on Rean properly. ]

Honestly? Mostly I'm just embarrassed about passing out like that.

I like it at least.

[He sits on the edge of the bed, putting a hand on Crow's forehead to check his temperature. It should be normal but you can never tell with sudden mana depletion.]

Most people wouldn't still be standing after that.

[Rean himself looks much much better.]

[ His forehead's cool, his temperature normal. ]

Yeah, but I like to think I'm not most people.

[ He's playing up his reaction, theatrically sulking-- it's probably obvious he's not really upset about it. ]

You're looking a lot better, though.

You aren't. But... I am feeling better. I'm not remotely at full power but I'm not in trouble.

Good, that's one less thing to worry about.

Yeah.

[He laughs a little.]

Honestly, I don't know if you can feel it, yet, but it worked fine.

[ Crow considers very carefully for a moment. ]

I do feel.... something.

Yeah?

[Maybe he's a little hopeful that Crow can already feel him.]

[ He nods slightly. ]

It's faint, but I think if I listen hard enough...

[ He's not sure that sounds right, but there's definitely something there. ]

It'll get stronger with time. Eventually we'll be able to communicate telepathically.

[Not that Rean can't do that with Crow now alway but the reverse will be true. And that's just some of what they'll share.]

You shouldn't notice tiredness or anything after this either, though I'll be connected to your mana.

It makes sense that it'd be exhausting to start with, though. You had to recover a lot.... you really were pretty bad off, huh?

...A little.

[ Crow reaches over to ruffle Rean's hair. ]

You've got a gift for understatement.

[I'm a powerful cool immortal being!! Accepts his hair ruffles.]

I didn't want to worry anyone. I should be fine no matter what, after all.

Says the guy who could barely type. It's okay to complain a little, you know.
