[Once again the Trial time has come. Just like the Eleventh, it's the Cat's bar that's appeared in the clearing, and just like then, he's not here for formalities.]

Can you believe you've been dumped on me again already? Lame, I know. But come on in and let's get going.

[But he's not the only voice! The booming, cheerful tone of the Hermit can be heard as well.]

Right, right, come along! This one should be fun for you and us.

[Once you enter the bar, you'll find... it's just a bar. In fact, you are free to come and go from it. The inside, though, has been dolled up -- there are swaths of colourful fabric above the windows, jingly dangly crystal decorations hanging down over tables, and patterned tablecloths. It's the kind of cheesy fortuneteller decor you've seen in the Hermit's tent before!

Otherwise, though, there's nothing strange. There are plenty of tables and an open dancefloor. The cabinets behind the bar are sturdily locked, but there are pitchers of non-alcoholic punch on every table, and on the bar is a jar of paper slips and a laminated instructions sheet.

The name of this game is: Fortune and Lies.]

The goal of this game is to act out secret objectives on one another. At the start of the game, characters will draw a fortune from a jar. Based on what they've drawn, they have an objective to accomplish in their threads -- the more often they achieve it, the more points they get. In the end, the three teams with the highest point count will win!

The rules are as follows. All IC rules are on the IC instructions sheet:

☆ Before playing, roll 1d6 in the dice channel on Discord.

☆ Your character's fortune is according to that roll:

1: Red Fortune - show physical affection
2: Orange Fortune - encourage someone or give advice
3: Yellow Fortune - tell someone something they didn't already know
4: Green Fortune - gossip about someone not in the thread
5: Blue Fortune - do something that embarrasses you, personally
6: Purple Fortune - tell a lie. lying about which fortune you have doesn't get points, because fairness.

☆ You can share your fortunes OOCly, but must hide them ICly. If your fortune is found out, you must get a new one. Characters can't get around this, because the moment they've been figured out, the speakers will begin playing a gameshow buzzer noise, and a light will shine on the caught character until they've redrawn. Redrawing is also a dice roll, and characters can get the same fortune more than once. You must stick to your roll, because there's a one-time bonus for having rolled all 6 fortunes via RNG. Whether to reflect the change in fortunes only in the current thread, or across all threads, is up to the player.

☆ Points are tallied as follows:

- gain one (1) point each time you carry out your objective. Multiple points can be gained in the same thread.
- gain two (2) points each time you make someone redraw
- gain five (5) points for a "rainbow roll", aka having naturally received every type of fortune. this can only be gotten once per character, and will not be rewarded to anyone who deliberately revealed their fortunes (ICly) or who manipulated their roll (ICly or OOCly). please be honest about your RNG. ICly, when this happens there will be a gameshow winner's bell, a few seconds of rainbow spotlight, and a shower of golden glitter.
- lose five (5) points for cheating. this is an IC-only consequence -- players are OOCly welcome to have their characters cheat, but if they do, they'll get a penalty. this results in a very loud alarm noise and flashing red spotlight for a few seconds.

☆ Win conditions are simply: the top 3 scoring teams. However, there will be a special non-Sparks prize given to the individual top scorer. ♥

[With a sudden explosion of cat-shaped confetti in terracotta, cobalt, & violet and an audio fanfare, the game ends! The lights in the whole bar are lifted to a daytime brightness without the previous ambiance, and the Hermit's voice chimes in.]

We're done! And the winners, as you probably guessed already, are... Senna, Jasmine, & Licorice!

[Then the Cat speaks up.]

As for the bonus prize, Jasmine Lady put in waaaay more effort than I would, but that's why you're the one out here, huh? Here you go.

[In a poof of sky blue smoke, a tiny, quarter-sized device lands on the table in front of Amane. It's just a little disc with two buttons on it: one white, one black.]

Good job, Miss Amane! Your prize is a "panic button"! One time and one time only, at any point in the future, if you press that white button one of us will come in person to help you out. We can't guarantee who'll be free or what kind of aid they can give you, but we'll try.

Or if you're not into unreliable cheesy friendship pacts with people you don't even know, you can hit the black button to get one free "small vehicle" of your choice. Say what you want when you push the button, but it's gotta be small enough to take in and out of the train without us building you a garage. So, y'know. A bicycle, not a sports car. Try not to ask for anything too complicated.
