It’s a campfire treat. Like a marshmallow, chocolate, and graham cracker sandwich.

I have never had one. How are they made?

They're super easy! The first and main step is just roasting a marshmallow.

I see. Simple enough. What follows, Miss Eliza?

Then you take two halves of a graham cracker and a piece of chocolate, and smush the marshmallow between them! A good trick too is letting the cracker and chocolate sit near the fire while you roast, so the chocolate is already a little melted before the marshmallow goes on. I've also seen cereal sprinkled on it for extra crunch!

Frosted Flakes! Lucky Charms or Fruit Loops look cute, but Frosted Flakes is the best option by a mile.

Frosted Flakes are sugar-glazed corn flakes. S’mores are still pretty good without them! Like you can also do s’mores with peanut butter and chocolate, or cookies instead of the crackers, but the classic is still great as is.

What an interesting number of variations. I should like to try [all] some of them.

S'mores are endlessly customizable.

I would like to make a few.

Put a marshamallow on a stick and have at it! Just remember not to shake it if it catches on fire.

No, but if you want a perfect s'more, then yes.

That is so true. Okay! The key to a s'more is always going to be in your marshmallow roasting. You want to get the inside as melty as you can, but you still want some soft crisp on the outside.

All right. So, it would have to be the correct distance from the fire.

Right, too far away and it takes too long, too close and it burns. Getting it right above the coals but not in any actual flame works great.

Interesting.

Burning is okay for snacking, but not so great for s'mores since the inside isn't as soft. Just be careful not to shake it if it catches fire, you only want to blow out marshmallows.

Shaking would spread the fire.

Right, and you especially don't want the marshmallow to fly off an hit someone. It's sticky, so that burn isn't going to come off easily!
