[Well, that just happened! Many people on the train are now doubtlessly the worse for wear, physically and psychologically. How are you sorting all of that out?

If it is trying to return us to the selves we were before, that would require the important memories.

Or else it is some sort of anchor to what remains of our worlds. If one works from the theory that we are part of the clean-up, then people, places and things we have strong feelings about would be the links from us outward.
