he feels. he'd stopped feeling a while back, stopped everything a while back, and yeah, slinging all that weight off had been hard to take at the end, there, the way it's always rough to finally stop resisting the force that'd been driving you all those years. but it'd been easy, too, because a little peace and quiet had been long overdue.
which is the polar opposite of what Wolfwood's getting right now.
everything comes back into focus like a fever dream; the setting, the sounds... and the first thing through his head after "goddamn it" is that he wants a cigarette. so anyone still in the car will find a tall and lanky man slouching in the doorway, looking keen and clear in the face of disorientation. ]
Oi. Anyone got a smoke?

'cuz it is. ]
Guess not. [ scrubbing the back of his neck, readjusting to the sensation. this isn't the place he'd been, not by a long shot—and he used to be pretty ace at those. ] Damn.

It may not be impossible to find something as we investigate, so I'll keep an eye out for you.

[ he gives her a sort of... careful looking over, testing the weight of his theory on her. if this is the afterlife, it's not the afterlife he was in. and if she's dead, she's not as upset about it as a kid should be.
he lets his breath out slow. ]
Sounds like we're all treading water, huh. [ said very dryly for a man literally standing in an aquarium-turned-room. he keeps giving the glass mistrustful looks over her shoulder. ] What a damn pain...

That's... certainly a way to put it, yes.

lifting the Chain between two fingers, like one might turn a playing card to his competitor to show off a lucky hand. ]
Seein' as we're brainstorming, [ seems to be sarcastic ] you got any theories on what this is supposed to be?
[ it reminds him uncomfortably of SEEDS ship tech. ]

Ironic of you to ask for one, given the surroundings.

What is with that gormless staring?

tone conveys a lot, though. so do appearances. ]
A real charmer, ain't ya?
[ the hair gives him pause. everything else winds him up tense like a spring, underneath the deliberate slouch. ]

[The effect might... be a little ruined with his accent, all soft R's and pronounced vowels. And the utterly deadpan way he said it with.]

Your impressions could use some work.

[it's a terrible habit, anyway. at any rate 80H is dressed like she's headed to the beach because those are the clothes that were made available, but she gives this gentleman a onceover]

shrugging like his mind isn't a dustbowl weathering the biggest storm it's seen in a while. ]
Worth a shot.
[ gesturing next to the aquarium decor, which he doesn't recognize as necessarily being aquarium decor—just that it's water, everywhere. makes his spine tingle in a way that's not wholly good or bad, but a mix of both. ]
I dunno about you, but the scene ain't exactly setting me at ease.

As it happens, I'm not the complacent type.

I am 80H. It is a pleasure to make your acquaintance.

Wolfwood, at your service.
