[The trial zone doesn't exactly appear to be inthe best shape. It's the ruins of an old building, something once grand, perhaps a castle, with a strange statue of sorts with six spheres leading to a large seventh on a pedestal. It's possible t see a forest beyond the walls, though find a way out to that seems impossible, and plants have overgrown almost everything.]

[On the statue's pedestal is an inscription:
Three tribes that brought a storm,
Winter brought them to task.
Eventually things would become warm,
What in return did springtime ask?]

[Not so far beyond it appears to be stairs leading down into the earth. And to the side of that is a throne.]

[And on the throne is....someone new in Senna colors? Though perhaps the hair is enough of a give away. Though those with a keen eye may yet notice she's still wearing her geode still, with the distinctive cutie mark still on it.]

[She's lounged across the throne, legs kicked over one side, elbow resting on the other, head in hand.]

I'm bored. [And she offers a grin that has a dangerous glint to it.]

[ Felix is mostly frustrated that she's doing this to herself. And to people she and he cares about.

He sighs and then tries to straighten up again. ]

First, we need to figure out how to snap her out of whatever's going on. She says it has something to do with her world back home. But I haven't seen anything like this in any of her memories.

[ Though he hasn't seen every single one either. ]

Does the library have books on her homeworld? Or could we request them?

[ He gives her a curious look. That just might work. ]

You know, I've never checked. I don't see what it would hurt.

I know Cardamon brought in anything we might have written some time ago. I found a few of my childhood diaries.

[and she's not happy about that]

Oh, I think I heard about that! Childhood diaries, huh? Hopefully not anything too embarrassing.

[ What he wouldn't give for something that would help him remember more about his childhood. Other than meeting Fatalis back then. ]

No, mostly a lot of details that my 8 year old self considered vitally important. And complaints about my younger brother.

And what did 8-year-old Cat consider vitally important?

Doing well at school. Holidays. My mother making my favorite dessert after dinner, and letting me help. Being an older sister and being treated like I was an adult. I haven't remembered my own childhood yet, but it seems to have been happy.

[ Smiles fondly at the thought of a peaceful childhood like that, one he knows for sure he didn't have ]

Those sound like good priorities to me. What was your favorite dessert?

Honeyed saltcakes. I can't remember what they taste like, though. Beyond 'honey and salt'.

I am down for anything with honey in the name. We should see if we can make them here.

I'll try to ask for a recipe book. I do want to make holiday stew. I mentioned it to my partner, and it sounds comforting. And I remember how to make that.

I might have to make several batches if I want to share; no one on Thyme likes salt as much as I do.

Holiday stew? What's in that?

[ He raises a brow at that last comment. ]

I don't know. I like salt quite a bit.

Or is this one of those mer people things?

Fish. Potatoes and whatever else you have for root vegetables, like onions or fennel. Cream. Garum for flavoring, and a few other savory spices, though I think Mama Rei had to use fish sauce instead of garum.

And it might be. You've tasted what happens when I cook.

[Cat does seem to think 'acceptably salty' is about the levels of seawater].

Sounds filling. I'd go for it.

And I'll live. Just with some cholesterol issues.

[ He snickers a bit at the last line. ]

Cholesterol?

Too much salt makes that go up, right? Or is it down? I gets those two confused.

I have no idea what you are talking about.

And it is holiday food. You don't make it every day.

We don't really have holidays here. I guess there's nobody around to celebrate unless we step in. Do we even know how months work on the stars?

No. We could just declare that 30 days or 4 weeks is a month, and have a holiday at the end.

[ Claps his hands together ]

I'm down for monthly holidays. When do we start?

If we use thirty days, the next one would be on the nintieth. That's about four weeks from now. Every four weeks out be... the eighty-fourth. Three weeks.

[ Seems to be adding things up on his head as well. ]

Maybe we should try making some sort of calendar.
