Though you may have just got out of a Trial recently, there is the sound of an announcement on your Chain: ]

WELCOME NEW HEROES

[And indeed, there is another round of newbies waking up in their rooms, in the usual nondescript undies or team pyjamas. They'll get their basic welcome message and a prompt to view the IC Guide.

"Someone" has seen to bring refreshments to greet the newbies. It's sparkling water, refreshingly cool and surprisngly sugar-free considering the surroundings. If you choose to drink it, you will find yourself instantly refreshed, almost as if you'd gotten a full day's rest. You will also find that the very next thing you say to someone is a mildly inconvenient truth. It cannot and will not compel you to tell someone your deep, dark secrets but it MIGHT compel you to admit you forgot to brush your teeth this morning....

Trials are definitely a way to purification. Or at least that sounds right. [Still not sure how Bonds work, but latent Puritan sensibilities ring true.]

What happens if we don't purify the star?

I guess the Malice gets worse until there's nothing left. But we don't let that happen so don't worry about it.

Oh, I wasn't worried. Just curious.

[In fact, he probably seems a little too unworried about the possibility of a world and all its people getting swallowed up, but yeah. He just can't relate.]

I'm willing to play at being a hero for a while. At least until I get my memories back. Then maybe I'll try doing something else.

That's the spirit! Though there's nowhere else we can go until everything's fixed so I'm not sure what else there is to do.

I could always go see what I missed before. What stars were purified before I arrived. Or can we go to them whenever we want?

[That might be fun. Seeing what's already been saved. Or maybe just disappearing to find whatever else is out there to see, if possible.]

Are we sure there isn't anything left untouched by Malice?

I think that's up to the train. We can't really travel without it. Even if you powers or wings.

Well, there's not much on this star. That's for sure.

Have you seen anything interesting? I'm not going to be bored this whole time, am I? [Now that comes out plaintive.]

We used to have a river that was full of honey. And those deadly gingerbread men are probably still around.

Most of the really bizarre stuff happens during trials though.

But if you're super bored, I've got an idea you might enjoy.

Ooooh! That sounds yummy! [Is he talking about the river or the gingerbread men? Who knows! Maybe both.]

[ Unfurls his black feathered wings ]

[Klarion's eyes go WIDE and he's clapping, absolutely thrilled by the change of events.]

Ooooh! I didn't realize you could do that! Can you really fly? I wanna see!

You bet I can. Want to come with?

[Hmm, should he trust this man? Probably not. Does he trust this man? Eh. Is that going to stop him from going? Absolutely not.]

Yes, yes! I want to fly!

[ What are you talking about? Felix is the epitome of trustworthy.

Which is why he's taking to the air before diving back down and grabbing Klarion around the chest to fly back up ]

You got it!

[Klarion stares in awe as Felix takes to the air, only to jump when he notices the man swoop down at him, but he's ready-ish enough for just about anything. He can't help the gasp that leaves when he's scooped up, but the feeling of his stomach falling, the dizzying suddenness of movement, and then all he can do is laugh. Laugh, laugh, laugh.]

[ Flapping to bring them higher ]

[His hands scramble to find some form of purchase on Felix's arms while simultaneously trying to keep his wits about him. He's delighted, terrified, and dizzy, but the delight seems to be the current overwhelming sensation. Slowly being encroached upon by more dizziness the higher they go.]

[He's still laughing.]

This is marvelous! I want to fly forever!

Don't think my wings will hold up that long. Especially with the extra weight.

[He's still laughing, but now that it's been a moment, something seems a bit off about it.]

[Oh. He feels sick. He just might get sick in another minute.]

M-maybe we should go back down.

Getting a little airsick? All right, down we go.

[ And spreading his wings as he dives (slowly) toward the ground ]

Yes, yes, down.

[Going slow was the better idea, keeping his stomach more or less steady for the remainder of the flight.]

[ Unfortunately, he doesn't have landing downpat, which means he's going to sort of drop him close the ground before making a stumbling landing that he just barely hangs onto ]

Whoa!

Ah! [It's more an exclamation of surprise than pain, but he doesn't quite get his footing. Still, he doesn't fall flat, so much as stumble to his hands and knees. Probably for the best, as he would rather not move for a while.]

[Once the urge to get sick is quelled, he turns over and flops down with his backside, legs splayed out and hands behind him to help prop him up.]

... Can we do that again?

... maybe when your stomach has time to settle. You okay? I'm still working out the kinks in the landing.

[ Coming over to offer him a hand up ]

Okay... [Yeah. Probably a smart idea.]

[He'll happily take that help up. He brushes his pants off and grins.]

Oh, I'm well enough now. That was very exciting! It must be so much fun to be able to fly whenever you want!
