INTROS + MONTHLIES

Who: Everyone
When: Day 60, evening
Where: the Aurora

[The Candy Hearts are gone-- or at least, they're no longer all over the place. If you kept a few for your own purposes then well, feel free to enjoy yourself. Live your best life!

Though you may have just got out of a Trial recently, there is the sound of an announcement on your Chain: ]
WELCOME NEW HEROES

[And indeed, there is another round of newbies waking up in their rooms, in the usual nondescript undies or team pyjamas. They'll get their basic welcome message and a prompt to view the IC Guide.

"Someone" has seen to bring refreshments to greet the newbies. It's sparkling water, refreshingly cool and surprisngly sugar-free considering the surroundings. If you choose to drink it, you will find yourself instantly refreshed, almost as if you'd gotten a full day's rest. You will also find that the very next thing you say to someone is a mildly inconvenient truth. It cannot and will not compel you to tell someone your deep, dark secrets but it MIGHT compel you to admit you forgot to brush your teeth this morning....

Have fun and enjoy meeting your new people! ]

[[OOC NOTES: As the monthly prompt, the sparkling water will continue until next month's placements. If you have any questions, please ping the mods via the q&a. Thank you!]]

[there's a moment just as the black flames are about to strike, where the world seems to draw a breath in anticipation of the coming ruin. it's not silent, not still, but Tide's voice cuts through it regardless, falling into that instant as if the world made it just for him.]

Very well.

[McBurn's black flames envelop him like the tide he's named for, force their way inwards through his barriers, lick hungrily at his skin. but a terrible glory radiates from him and they cannot, in that moment, touch him. the flames draw back from him in unthinking obeisance, subjects before their sovereign, and in the empty space they leave on the blazing battlefield Tide rises into the air and comes apart into hundreds of crystalline shards.

the shards hover in the air and do not fall. they align themselves and form a ring, slowly rotating in empty air. another forms around it, and another, five in all, each at a different speed and angle. in their center a transparent sphere forms, filled with blinding white flame, and in the center of that flame, Tide's familiar form rematerializes. he is the form and the flame and the sphere and the rings and all of them are him, flooded with his Essence and will.]

Oho.

So it looks like I don't have to do this the hard way. Wonder how much hurt you can actually manage now.

[ Now then, he was sure that Tide had essentially properly adjusted his current power level so to speak in order to face him properly.

As he so desired. And of course, that brought on more excitement for his own part, as he was able to sense the sheer strength and energy radiating off of the man now. But, surely, it wasn't all for show? He wasn't about to do any sort of testing with that, however.

The time for that was way past.

Even from where he was standing, he could easily set off another attack, swinging a hand back as he let the 'spell' go.

Beneath the other man, glyphs appeared, and from it he would attempt to engulf the man into a literal, wide tower of purple, black, and hint of dark red flames which would spill forth that very spot. ]

Let us answer that question together.

[his voice is felt more than heard, now, bypassing the ears to arrive directly in the brain, and as the column of dark fire envelops him it crystallizes, the elements that make it up hardening until it collapses under its own weight. some makes it through, enough to make the outer ring chime a protesting dissonance, enough to cause the white flame to dim for an instant.

but only an instant, and within the flame the shape that once was Tide raises his hand.

space buckles around McBurn, twisting, collapsing inward under the raw force of his will, vastly greater than it had been a moment ago. a great wind howls into existence, carrying the stink of burned sugar and scorched chocolate, as the singularity forms, and at its heart is a blinding spark of the same killing light that the stars carried moments ago.]
