Though you may have just got out of a Trial recently, there is the sound of an announcement on your Chain: ]

WELCOME NEW HEROES

[And indeed, there is another round of newbies waking up in their rooms, in the usual nondescript undies or team pyjamas. They'll get their basic welcome message and a prompt to view the IC Guide.

"Someone" has seen to bring refreshments to greet the newbies. It's sparkling water, refreshingly cool and surprisngly sugar-free considering the surroundings. If you choose to drink it, you will find yourself instantly refreshed, almost as if you'd gotten a full day's rest. You will also find that the very next thing you say to someone is a mildly inconvenient truth. It cannot and will not compel you to tell someone your deep, dark secrets but it MIGHT compel you to admit you forgot to brush your teeth this morning....

These ones. [Gonna pick a daisy telekinetically and bring it over.]

That'd be the pollen, I think. Most creatures will sneeze to an overexposure to pollen.

I would like that a lot! [More beaming!]

Ooooh! [He stares at it in reverence. It's a fairly simple bloom compared to a lot of the others, but it is still brilliant. Now he kind of wants to taste it.]

It tickles! I like it! [But he won't be enjoying it if he sneezes too much so he refrains from doing it again. For now. He'll probably do it again later. Or maybe tomorrow. Whenever he feels like it.]

Flowers aren't anything like carrots and potatoes. Though potatoes do sometimes have a flowerish thing on them when it's time to harvest, right?

The simplest flower, but they make great sandwiches. [And now she's gonna eat it.]

[Chewing thoughtfully as she thinks about it.] A lot of plants that produce fruit will have flowers, yes. Most trees with fruits and a number of plants in the ground get flowers on top too.

Potatoes are like that. Though generally where they're grown is dry enough the flowers will wilt and die. Sometimes those flowers can make fruit though, but it's poisonous to most things. It's a bit like nightshade which is pretty bad on the poison scale.

[Now he's hungry for realsies. He might be tempted to take one and eat it in half a minute...]

Trees with fruit. You've mentioned that. Could you point one out to me?

Nightshades... Tomatoes and eggplants, too, yes? [But he scrunches his nose, apparently not a fan.]

Sure. [She takes a look around, see if there's any in this section.] Ah, over there. That's an apple tree.

Yes, they have flowers too. Though it looks like you've never had a good meal with those?

An apple tree... [It looks kind of delicate and frail, but the fruit was definitely something he'd never seen before.] They're so colorful.

[He shakes his head, not even trying to hide his dislike.] Beets, carrots and potatoes are always better.

A lot of fruit trees are. Plums, peaches, oranges to name a few. Apples are a pretty big staple in Equestria.

Huh. More for the rooty vegetables then?

Can I eat them? [Even if she says "no" he'll probably end up swiping some at some point.] I want to try them all.

I guess. Potatoes are just good in general. But beets and carrots are sweet. I like sweet things.

Yeah, though you want to make sure they're red before you do. This tree, at least. Under ripe apples aren't very good.

[Gonna pull an apple with telekinesis down for him.] Well, then you'll definitely like fruit.

Red. Okay, I can do that. [He'll have to snag one soon. But for now, he's content to rest on the soft earth with Solar.]

[His eyebrows raise in surprise when she gets one for him. He smiles warmly, happily taking the apple in hand. He's actually sincere when he says:] Thank you!

[Biting into the apple is an Experience. It makes a nice sound, and it's also immediately juicy, which he did not expect. The sweetness is unlike anything he's ever had, or that he can remember having, and his eyes fall shut as he just savors the taste for a few seconds... Only to immediately start gobbling up the rest like a starving man. Not an easy task, considering the skin of the apple wasn't exactly the softest thing and kept getting stuck in his teeth, but it was delicious. Too delicious to just not tear into like the feral child he could easily be when he wanted to be.]

[Jesus.]

....you really don't know how to savor things, huh?

What's that mean?

[Though by the sticky smile he gives her, he's either 100 percent serious or 100 percent joking. It's really hard to tell.]

That was delicious! I only want to eat apples forever and ever.

There's a lot more fruit, you know.

I'm also not sure if you're joking. DO you know how to savor things?

I do know what it means. But what's the point in doing that when you can enjoy it to its fullest all at once?

....dozens? At least.

Because you aren't enjoying it to the fullest? You shorten the time of each bite of enjoyment.

Instead of being able to enjoy a few seconds each of two bites, you half it.

So many... [If they all tasted like this, he was going to have to taste all of them.]

[He shrugs, grinning.] Or I could always have another one.

Your stomach can only hold so much food at once.

Well, that’s no fun. What if I want to eat more?

Slow down your eating so your body has time to digest and make more room.

[He can't decide if that's a better trade off just yet.]

It's a new way to experience something?

[He tilted his head to the side.]

That is true.

[He smiles at her.]

Want to see outside the train? It's too dangerous to wander off far, but its same enough if I'm with you.

[He sits bolt upright, smiling wider than ever.]
